Ferris Bolton
Ferris Bolton (February 13, 1853 – May 11, 1937) was a politician and farmer. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada as a Member of the Unionist Party in the 1917 election to represent the riding of Lisgar. Prior to his federal political experience, he was reeve of South Dufferin and Pemble, Manitoba between 1880 and 1894 and reeve of Pembina, Manitoba between 1891 and 1894. Bolton was also Postmaster of Calf Mountain from 1881 to 1900, and postmaster at Darlingford from 1913 to 1917. Lisgar (electoral District)
Lisgar was a federal electoral district in Manitoba, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1871 to 1988. This riding was created following the admission of Manitoba into the Canadian Confederation in 1870. It was abolished in 1987 when it was redistributed into Brandon—Souris, Lisgar—Marquette and Provencher ridings. World War I

Darlingford
Darlingford is an unincorporated community recognized as a local urban district located west of Morden, Manitoba in the Municipality of Pembina in the Pembina Valley region of southern Manitoba, Canada. History Darlingford was founded by James Ephraim Law, builder of the first house in the town. The Law cairn was erected and is a tribute to the steadfast love of family and community that was inherent in the life of John Oliver and Sara Law. They instilled these same virtues in their thirteen children that they raised on this very site. John Oliver is the son of James Ephriam Law. James was said to have purchased this NW8-3-7W in 1898 but the registration did not take place until 1902. The Municipality of Pembina is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba. History The municipality was incorporated on January 1, 2015 via the amalgamation of the RM of Pembina and the Town of Manitou. It was formed as a requirement of ''The Municipal Amalgamations Act'', which required that municipalities with a population less than 1,000 amalgamate with one or more neighbouring municipalities by 2015. William Henry Sharpe
William Henry Sharpe (April 19, 1868 – April 19, 1942) was a Canadian merchant and political figure in Manitoba, Canada. He represented Lisgar in the House of Commons of Canada from 1908 to 1915 as a Conservative. Sharpe sat for Manitou division in the Senate of Canada from 1916 to 1942. He was born in Scott Township, Ontario, the son of George Sharpe and Mary Ann Simpson, and was educated in Uxbridge and Belleville. He established himself as a merchant in Manitou, Manitoba. He was married twice: to Cora Alice Bustin in 1891 and to Ida J. Armstrong in 1900. Sharpe raised the 184th Battalion, CEF that served overseas during World War I, serving as lieutenant-colonel. He was a member of the city council for Manitou from 1901 to 1907 and was mayor in 1908. He resigned his seat in the House of Commons in 1915 to run unsuccessfully for a seat in the provincial assembly. He died in office in Ottawa at the age of 74.
