Ferndale High School (Michigan)
Ferndale High School is a public high school in Ferndale, Michigan. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ferndale Public Schools. History It was originally Lincoln High School when built in 1921 on the corner of 9 Mile and Livernois Roads. The current Ferndale High School was built in two phases: "Old Main" was built in 1936 as an addition to Lincoln High School, with the "Alexander" wing built in 1957, the year the high school was renamed; the original 1921 building became a middle school. Athletics The Ferndale Eagles are a member of the Oakland Activities Association. The school colors are currently navy blue and gold. Frank Joranko
Frank L. Joranko (July 1, 1930 – March 8, 2019) was an American football and baseball player and coach. He was the head baseball coach at Albion College from 1973 to 1995, the head football coach from 1973 to 1982, and the athletic director from 1975 to 1991. Athlete at Albion Joranko attended Albion College and graduated in the Class of 1954. While at Albion, he earned nine varsity letters in three sports—four each in football and baseball and one in basketball. He was the quarterback and defensive end for the school's football team and was selected as the most valuable player in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association ("MIAA") in 1951. After Joranko scored two touchdowns in a September 1950 game against Ashland University, one newspaper reporter wrote that Joranko "held honors for the prettiest run thus far in the fall campaign." Robert Steel Smith (April 10, 1936 – March 16, 2013), professionally known as Bobby Smith, also spelled Bobbie, was an American R&B singer notable as the principal lead singer of the classic Motown/Philly group, The Spinners (also known as the Detroit Spinners or the Motown Spinners), throughout its history. Miriam Shor
Miriam Shor (born July 25, 1971) is an American actress. She is known for her performance in the rock musical '' Hedwig and the Angry Inch'' and in the 2001 film adaptation of the same name. Rashad Keith Phillips (born May 5, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player. At a height of 5'9 " (1.76 m) tall, and a weight of 170 pounds (77 kg), he played at the guard position. Since retiring from basketball, he started and continues to run, "Skills Unlimited", a training and mentoring program for children, that uses basketball as a vehicle to help them overcome their obstacles.
