Fernando Solana
Fernando Solana Morales (February 8, 1931 – March 23, 2016) was a Mexican diplomat, politician and businessman. He served as the Mexican Secretary of Public Education, of Commerce and of Foreign Affairs. Biography Born in Mexico City, Fernando Solana graduated from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where has been a professor in Economics, Philosophy, and Political Sciences. He has also served as Secretary General of the University. He began his public service career after he was appointed as Secretary of Commerce by president José López Portillo in 1976. Less than one year later, he was appointed Secretary of Education, a position that he retained to the end of the López Portillo administration in 1982. The president of the Senate (Spanish: ''Presidente de la Cámara de Senadores'') is the presiding officer of the Mexican Senate. The incumbent president is Senator Olga Sánchez Cordero. The Senate of Mexico, at the beginning of each annual legislative session, elects an executive board (Mesa Directiva) from among its 128 members. The executive board comprises a president, three vice-presidents, and four secretaries, elected by an absolute majority of the senators. Bernardo Sepúlveda Amor
Bernardo Sepúlveda Amor (born 14 December 1941) is a Mexican diplomat and jurist. He was Secretary of Foreign Affairs during the 1980s under President Miguel de la Madrid and is a former judge of the International Court of Justice. Biography He was born in Mexico City, where he studied law at the National Autonomous University (UNAM, 1964). He then pursued post-graduate studies, specialising in international law at Queens' College, Cambridge in the United Kingdom (1966). He is a professor of international law and international organisations at El Colegio de México and also teaches at the Matías Romero Institute. Grupo Financiero Banamex S.A. de C.V. has its origins and is the owner of the Banco Nacional de México or Citibanamex (formerly Banamex). It is the second-largest bank in Mexico. The Banamex Financial Group was purchased by Citigroup in August 2001 for $12.5 billion USD. It continues to operate as a Citigroup subsidiary. History Banamex was formed on 2 June 1884 from the merger of two banks, Banco Nacional Mexicano and Banco Mercantil Mexicano, which had operated since the beginning of 1882. Miguel de la Madrid Hurtado (; 12 December 1934 – 1 April 2012) was a Mexican politician affiliated with the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) who served as the 59th president of Mexico from 1982 to 1988.
