Fernando Romero (baseball)
Fernando Ernesto Romero Peralta (born December 24, 1994) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher who is a free agent. He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins and in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars. Career Minnesota Twins Romero signed with the Minnesota Twins as an international free agent in November 2011. He made his professional debut in 2012 with the Dominican Summer League Twins and spent the whole season there, going 1-4 with a 4.65 ERA in 31 innings. He pitched 2013 with the Gulf Coast Twins where he was 2-0 with a 1.60 ERA in 45 innings. Romero began 2014 with the Cedar Rapids Kernels but suffered a partially torn Ulnar collateral ligament of elbow joint, ulnar collateral ligament after only three games which required Tommy John Surgery. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are a Minor League Baseball team of the Florida State League and the Single-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. They are located in Fort Myers, Florida, and play their home games at the Lee County Sports Complex at Hammond Stadium, which has a capacity of 7,500 and opened in 1991. The Salt Lake Bees are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL) and the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. The Rocket City Trash Pandas are a Minor League Baseball team of the Southern League and the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. They are located in Madison, Alabama, and play their home games at Toyota Field. History In November 2017, BallCorps LLC purchased the Southern League's Mobile BayBears from owners Michael Savit and HWS Group for the purpose of relocating the team to Madison, Alabama, in 2020. Upon relocation, the team was renamed the Rocket City Trash Pandas.
