Fernando Augusto Azevedo Pedreira (; born 14 November 1986), commonly known as Fernando, is a Brazilian-born Hong Kong professional footballer who currently plays for Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee. Club career In June 2015, Fernando joined Kitchee. He was named Hong Kong's Footballer of the Year award for 2017. On 1 July 2020, Eastern announced the signing of Fernando. He left the club on 9 July 2022. On 25 July 2022, Fernando returned to Kitchee. International career On 21 February 2021, Fernando officially announced that he had received a Hong Kong passport, making him eligible to represent Hong Kong internationally. On 17 May 2021, Fernando received his first call-up to the Hong Kong national football team to play against Iran, Iraq and Bahrain for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. Hong Kong Top Footballer Awards
The Hong Kong Top Footballers Awards (), established by the Hong Kong Football Association in 1978, recognizes the top performers for each season's Hong Kong Premier League. The prizes are decided according to the votes from mass media and the general public. The Best Eleven Squad are voted by the public, Premier League coaches and managers and staff from different mass media. The votes from public counts 30% and the remaining 70% are from the professionals. Some other newer prizes include Best Youth Player, Best Foreign Player and Best Coach Award. In 2004, the Most Popular Player Award was established and in the same year, named sponsorship was used. 2014–15 Hong Kong Season Play-off
2014–15 season play-off for the 2014–15 Hong Kong football season is the 3rd season of the tournament. It will be held in May 2015. All matches will take place at Mong Kok Stadium in Mong Kok, Kowloon. The play-off semi-finals are played in one match each, contested by the teams who finished in 2nd and 3rd place in the Premier League table, the winners of the Senior Challenge Shield and the champions of the FA Cup. The winners of the semi-finals go through to the finals, with the winner of the final gaining participation for the 2016 AFC Cup group stage. As Kitchee won the FA Cup and Eastern won the Senior Shield, as well as coming in 2nd place in the Premier League, teams therefore finishing in 4th and 5th place in the Hong Kong Premier League entered. Hong Kong Football Association League Cup () is an annual football competition contested by clubs in the top-tier Hong Kong domestic football league (currently Hong Kong Premier League). The cup was relaunched for the 2014–15 season after being discontinued in the 2012–13 season. Format *All teams in Hong Kong First Division League (until 2013–2014 season) / Hong Kong Premier League (starting from 2014 to 2015 season) are divided in the 2 groups (Group A & B) in first round stage. The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the third oldest in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong football system. South China are the most successful club, having won 41 times since their first participation in 1941. The Hong Kong Senior Challenge Shield (), known commonly as the Senior Shield, is the football knockout inter-club competition held in Hong Kong and the fourth oldest football tournament in Asia. Traditionally, only the teams in the Hong Kong Premier League are entered into the competition. However, on occasion teams in lower divisions, usually the champions of the Junior Shield, are invited in order to increase the number of participating teams. Hong Kong FA Cup () is a knockout cup competition in Hong Kong football, run by and named after The Hong Kong Football Association. The first edition of the competition was held in 1975, before then the cup was known as the Golden Jubilee Cup. The current season is the 45th edition of the event. 14 different teams have won the cup with 10-time champions South China being the most successful. In the first three years, the semi-finals and the finals were two-legged events. If the aggregate result was drawn, there would be extra time after the second leg.
