Ferland Sinna Mendy (born 8 June 1995) is a French professional footballer who plays as a left-back for La Liga club Real Madrid and the France national team. Early and personal life Born in Meulan-en-Yvelines, France, Mendy is of Senegalese descent. At the age of 15 he spent time in a wheelchair and was told he might never play football again. He is a cousin of goalkeeper Édouard Mendy, who plays for Premier League club Chelsea and the Senegal national team. Meulan-en-Yvelines (; formerly just ''Meulan'') is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France. Benjamin Mendy (born 17 July 1994) is a French professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Manchester City. He played for the France national team from 2017 until 2019.
