Proto-Iranian Language
Proto-Iranian or Proto-Iranic is the reconstructed proto-language of the Iranian languages branch of Indo-European language family and thus the ancestor of the Iranian languages such as Pashto, Persian, Sogdian, Zazaki, Ossetian, Mazandarani, Kurdish, Talysh and others. Its speakers, the hypothetical Proto-Iranians, are assumed to have lived in the 2nd millennium BC and are usually connected with the Andronovo archaeological horizon (see Indo-Iranians). Feridun Ahmed Bey
Feridun Ahmed Bey (died 16 March 1583) was an influential Ottoman official, bureaucrat, author and military officer, best known for his service in the government of Grand Vizier Sokollu Mehmed Pasha (1565–1579). He was the second husband of Ayşe Hümaşah Sultan, grandaughter of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent. The ''Münșeâtu's-Selâtin'' is his most important work, a two-volume compilation going back to early Islamic periods. According to Selcuk Aksin Somel, this work is "crucial for the study of early and classical periods of Ottoman history". Biography Feridun Ahmed Bey's date of birth is unknown. According to his own writings, he was born to a certain Abdülkadır (ʿAbd al-Qādir). Feridun Ahmed Bey was probably of ''devshirme'' origin. Feridun Düzağaç (born 10 October 1968) is a Turkish rock music singer and songwriter, usually known for his pessimistic and melancholic songs. Music career Early career Feridun Düzağaç started his music career by forming a band called "TINI" ("TONE") in Mersin while studying in university. This band was formed in 1988 and Feridun Düzağaç was the vocalist of this band consisting five musicians. Other members of the band were Feridun Düzağaç's schoolmates. The first song that Feridun Düzağaç wrote was "Lavinia" which was a poem originally written by famous Turkish poet Özdemir Asaf. In 1990, Feridun Düzağaç and his 13 schoolmates wrote a book called "İlk Rüzgar" ("The First Wind") which contained many poems. In 1992, he graduated from the university. Feridun Cemal Erkin (1899–1980)
Feridun Cemal Erkin (1899–1980) was a Turkish diplomat and politician. He was the minister of foreign affairs between 1962 and 1965. He served as the ambassador of Turkey in various countries, including Italy, the United States of America, Spain, France and the United Kingdom. Early life and education Erkin was born in İstanbul 1899. He graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1920. He received a degree in law from the University of Paris in 1925. Between 1916 and 1918 he completed the military service. Career Erkin worked as a deputy accountant in İstanbul public administration in 1920. Feridun Hamdullahpur (born ) is the chancellor of International Business University. Previously, he was the president and vice-chancellor of the University of Waterloo. Hamdullahpur was named the sixth president of the University of Waterloo in March 2011. Hamdullahpur's term ended on July 1, 2021, when his successor, Vivek Goel, took office. Feridun Karakaya (1928 – April 24, 2004) was a well-known Turkish comedy actor. Biography Karakaya educated in Kabataş Erkek Lisesi. Özsoy (opera)
''Özsoy'' (or ''Fereydun'') is an opera composed by Ahmet Adnan Saygun from a libretto by Münir Hayri Egeli. It was the first Turkish opera composed during the country's Republican period under Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and it was given its premiere performance in the Halk Evi Theatre in Ankara on 19 June 1934. The opera tells the story of twin brothers Tur and Īraj in three parts. Its theme, proposed by Atatürk, draws from the famous poetic opus, ''Shahnameh'', which was written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi around 1000 AD. Tur symbolizes the Turkish people, living in "Tūrān", all the lands north and east of the Oxus, while Iraj symbolizes the Iranian people, living in Iran.
