Ferdi Vierklau
Ferdinand 'Ferdi' Rudols Marcel Vierklau (born 1 April 1973) is a Dutch retired footballer who played as a right back. Club career Vierklau was born in Bilthoven, Utrecht. In his country, he played for FC Utrecht, Vitesse Arnhem and AFC Ajax (March 1999 to June 2002), appearing in 185 Eredivisie matches over 11 seasons and scoring five goals; he won the double with the Amsterdam club in the 2001–02 campaign, but was already a fringe player at the time. Vierklau also played one and a half seasons with CD Tenerife in Spain, being relegated in his second year in La Liga and subsequently signing with Ajax. He retired at the age of 29. International career Vierklau earned two caps for the Netherlands, in a period of eight months. His debut was on 5 October 1996, as he played 71 minutes in a 3–1 away win against Wales for the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification stages. Bilthoven
Bilthoven is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of De Bilt. It has a railway station with connections to Utrecht, Amersfoort and Baarn. KNVB Cup
The KNVB Beker (; en, KNVB Cup), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organized by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898. It was based on the format of the English FA Cup. Outside the Netherlands, it is often referred to as the Dutch Cup. The tournament consists of all teams from the top four tiers of Dutch league football (Eredivisie, Eerste Divisie, Tweede Divisie and Derde Divisie), as well as the 24 semi-finalists (or replacements) of the six KNVB District Cups. Listed below are the dates and results for the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification rounds for the European zone (UEFA). A total of 50 UEFA teams entered the competition; Andorra, which joined FIFA and UEFA in November 1996 while the qualifiers were underway, could not enter. The European zone was allocated 15 places (out of 32) in the final tournament. France, the hosts, qualified automatically, leaving 14 spots open for competition between 49 teams. The 1998 FIFA World Cup was the 16th FIFA World Cup, the football world championship for men's national teams. The finals tournament was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998.
