Fenglin, Hualien
Fenglin Township, () is an Township (Taiwan), urban township in central Hualien County, Taiwan. It is located in Huatung Valley bordering Shoufeng Township on the north and Guangfu Township on the south. It has a population of around 10,552 inhabitants in 12 villages. Geography The administration area here is 120.518 km2, and located in the Huatung Valley plain between Central Mountain Range and Hai'an Range (Coastal Range). Administrative divisions Fengren, Fengyi, Fengli, Fengzhi, Fengxin, Shanxing, Darong, Beilin, Nanping, Linrong, Zhangqiao and Senrong Village. Tobacco Barn
The tobacco barn, a type of functionally classified barn found in the USA, was once an essential ingredient in the process of air- curing tobacco. In the 21st century they are fast disappearing from the landscape in places where they were once ubiquitous. The barns have declined with the tobacco industry in general, and U.S. States such as Maryland actively discourage tobacco farming. Linrong Shin Kong Railway Station
Linrong Shin Kong railway station () is a railway station on the Taitung line operated by the Taiwan Railways Administration. The station is located in Fenglin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan, on the southern end of the Xikou Tunnel, which crosses the Shoufeng River. It is the only underground station on the Taitung line. The station name is a combination of Linrong, a village located nearby, and the Shin Kong Group, who owns the land around the station and financed its construction. The station is located at the entrance of Harvest Ranch and Resort, which is owned by Shin Kong. Hwa-tung Line
The Taitung Line (), also known as the Hua-Tung line (), is the southern section of the Eastern Line of the Taiwan Railways Administration. The line starts at the Hualien station and ends at the Taitung station. It is 161.5 km long, including the main segment of 155.7 km between Hualien and Taitung. The coastal branch lines of Hualien and Taitung were discarded after the broadening plan in 1982. Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park
The Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park () is a former lumber town in Fenglin Township, Hualien County, Taiwan. History Forestry began in the area since 1918 with a name of Morisaka. The park was originally the ground for logs processing area from Mount Da'an during the Japanese rule of Taiwan. Felling works were done by Hualien Harbor Timber. In 1925, the area was declared by the Japanese government as the Lintianshan logging area. In 1939, Hualien Harbor Timber was renamed to Taiwan Kougyou Kabusiki Gaisya and established the Taiwan Xingye Company Lintianshan Logging Office. Since then, several railways, dormitories and buildings were established to support the business there.
