Fem Belling
Fem Belling (born 6 December 1978) is an South African Born, Australian Jazz vocalist and violinist with a dual career in stage musicals and jazz singing. Fem was raised in Johannesburg and later moved to Cape Town to establish a career in musical theatre before moving to London as a leading lady in the West End. Lead roles include ''Hairspray'', ''Fame'', ''Footloose'', '' Cats'' (original South African cast) & Liza Minnelli in the 2011 production of ''The Boy from Oz'' starring Todd McKenney. Fem claims 5 Vita awards, a Green Room Award nomination for Best Leading Actress in the Musical ''Genesis to Broadway''” and shares an ARIA nomination from her involvement in The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. Jazz is characterized by swing and blue notes, complex chords, call and response vocals, polyrhythms and improvisation. Jazz has roots in European harmony and African rhythmic rituals. As jazz spread around the world, it drew on national, regional, and local musical cultures, which gave rise to different styles. The Rocky Horror Show
''The Rocky Horror Show'' is a musical with music, lyrics and book by Richard O'Brien. A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1960s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Dr Frank-N-Furter, unveiling his new creation, Rocky, a sort of Frankenstein-style monster in the form of an artificially made, fully grown, physically perfect muscle man complete "with blond hair and a tan". The show was produced and directed by Jim Sharman. The original London production of the musical was premièred at the Royal Court Theatre (Upstairs) on 19 June 1973 (after two previews on 16 and 18 June 1973). It later moved to several other locations in London and closed on 13 September 1980. Australian Women In Music Awards
Australian Women in Music Awards (commonly known informally as AWMA) is an annual awards ceremony and conference celebrating the contributions of women in all areas of the Australian music industry. The two-day program includes forums, a show case event and networking. Diversity and inclusion is a focus of the awards. The event was founded in March 2018 by industry veteran Vicki Gordon and come after the research report 'Skipping A Beat' published in 2017 found gender inequality to be rife in the Australian music industry. Artist Katie Noonan said at the launch, "These awards are a powerful signal to our industry, our artists and our audience that female musicians can, should and will take centre stage". The fourth season of ''The Voice'' premiered on 28 June 2015. Ricky Martin and Joel Madden returned as coaches for the fourth season, with Madden pairing up with his brother, Benji Madden as a duo. In January 2015, it was announced that Jessie J would join the coaching line-up as well Delta Goodrem, who would return to the panel after a one-season hiatus; replacing former judges will.i.am and Kylie Minogue, respectively.
