Katharine Felton
Katharine Conway "Kitty" Felton (July 7, 1873 – August 8, 1940) was the head of Associated Charities in San Francisco at the turn of the 20th century. Felton was born in Oakland, California, on July 7, 1873, the daughter of a prominent San Francisco Bay Area family. Her father, John Brooks Felton, was a judge and mayor of Oakland and has the Santa Cruz County town of Felton, California named after him. She was called "the conscience of the city" because of her dedication to social work. In 1901, at the age of 28, Felton was appointed director of Associated Charities (now the Felton Institute--formerly the Family Service Agency of San Francisco). In 1902, she created the Children's Service Agency of San Francisco, which developed the first foster care system in California. John Felton (canoeist)
John Felton (born 5 December 1960 in Kyogle) is an Australian slalom canoeist who competed from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. He finished 14th in the C-2 event at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. John Felton commenced canoeing in 1974, he subsequently competed internationally from 1979 – 1983 when he retired having won a Commonwealth Title (Scotland, 1981) and having finished as high as 4th in the World Championships (Jonquiere, Canada 1979). After Canoe Slalom was readmitted to the Olympic Games in 1992 he came out of retirement in 1993 (at 32 years of age) and teamed up again with Andrew Wilson for a shot at the Atlanta Olympic Games. John Lincoln Felton (December 24, 1883 – February 7, 1961) was an American college football coach. He served two stints as the head football coach at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia from 1912 to 1913, as co-head coach with Mont McIntire, and in 1921. Felton was also the head football coach at McDaniel College (then known as Western Maryland College) in 1914 and at Muskingum College in Ohio in 1916. John Felton ( – 29 November 1628) was a lieutenant in the English Army who stabbed George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham to death in the Greyhound Pub of Portsmouth on 23 August 1628. King Charles I trusted Buckingham, who made himself rich in the process but proved a failure at foreign and military policy. Charles gave him command of the military expedition against Spain in 1625. It was a total fiasco with many dying from disease and starvation. He led another disastrous military campaign in 1627. Buckingham was hated and the damage to the king's reputation was irreparable. England rejoiced when he was assassinated by Felton. Jerome Jean-Marie Felton (born July 3, 1986) is a former American football fullback. He previously played for the Minnesota Vikings, where he had been a fundamental part of Adrian Peterson's success, including Peterson's 2,097 rushing yards season in 2012. Henry Felton D.D. (1679–1740) was an English clergyman and academic. Life Felton was born in the London parish of St Martin-in-the-Fields on 3 February 1679. His earliest education was at Cheney's School in Buckinghamshire; he moved to Westminster School under Richard Busby, and then to Charterhouse School, where he became a private pupil of Dr. Thomas Walker, the head-master.
