A politician is a person active in party politics, or a person holding or seeking an elected office in government. Politicians propose, support, reject and create laws that govern the land and by an extension of its people. Broadly speaking, a politician can be anyone who seeks to achieve political power in a government. Identity Politicians are people who are politically active, especially in party politics. Dorr Felt
Dorr Eugene Felt (March 18, 1862 – August 7, 1930) was an American inventor and industrialist who was known for having invented the Comptometer, an early computing device, and the Comptograph, the first printing adding machine. The ''Felt & Tarrant Manufacturing Company'' that he co-founded with Robert Tarrant on January 25, 1889 J. Turk, p. 75 (1921) remained a major player in the calculator industry until the mid-1970s. Biography Dorr E. Felt was born in Beloit, Wisconsin Felt and Allied Families, p. 12 (1921) where he grew up on the family farm and which he left at age 14 to seek employment. His father, Eugene K. Felt, was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Mark Felt
William Mark Felt Sr. (August 17, 1913 – December 18, 2008) was an American law enforcement officer who worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from 1942 to 1973 and was known for his role in the Watergate scandal. Felt was an FBI special agent who eventually rose to the position of Associate Director, the Bureau's second-highest-ranking post. Felt worked in several FBI field offices prior to his promotion to the Bureau's headquarters. In 1980, he was convicted of having violated the civil rights of people thought to be associated with members of the Weather Underground, by ordering FBI agents to break into their homes and search the premises as part of an attempt to prevent bombings. He was ordered to pay a fine, but was pardoned by President Ronald Reagan during his appeal. George Felt
George Felt (February 28, 1601 – ) was a 17th-century English emigrant to the New England Colonies. He is considered a founder of the Boston neighborhood of Charlestown, and is one of the three main early settlers of North Yarmouth, Massachusetts Bay Colony (now Yarmouth, Maine), along with John Cousins and William Royal. Ephraim Porter Felt
Ephraim Porter Felt (January 7, 1868 – December 14, 1943) was an American entomologist who specialised in Diptera. Biography Ephraim Porter Felt was born in Salem, Massachusetts on January 7, 1868, to Charles Wilson Felt and Martha Seeth Ropes Felt. He was educated at Massachusetts Agricultural College, Boston University, and Cornell. From 1893 to 1895, Felt taught natural sciences at Clinton Liberal Institute. In 1895, he was appointed assistant to J.A. Lintner, the State Entomologist of New York. Following Lintner's death in 1898, Felt was appointed as State Entomologist and remained in that position until his retirement in 1928. In retirement he worked at Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories in Stamford, Connecticut, where he died from a heart attack on December 14, 1943. William Howard Thompson
William Howard Thompson (October 14, 1871February 9, 1928) was a United States senator from Kansas. Biography Born in Crawfordsville, Indiana, he moved with his parents to Nemaha County, Kansas in 1880, where attended the public schools and graduated from the Seneca Normal School in 1886. He graduated from the Lawrence Business College in 1891. He was the official court reporter of the twenty-second judicial district of Kansas from 1891 to 1894, and studied law; he was admitted to the bar in 1894, commencing practice in Seneca; he was clerk of the Kansas Court of Appeals in Topeka and practiced law there from 1897 to 1901. He moved to Iola, Kansas in 1901 and continued the practice of law. He was county attorney of Allen County and moved to Garden City in 1905.
