Fellsilent
Fellsilent (also typeset as FELLSILENT) were a British heavy metal band from Milton Keynes. They possessed a technical, polyrhythmic style, similar to bands such as Meshuggah and Sikth. The band also focused on some melodic elements. They released their debut album ''The Hidden Words'' in 2008 which gained immediate popularity among metal fans. Touring with other British bands such as Enter Shikari and Exit Ten helped them to gain further popularity. In 2008, Fellsilent signed to US record label Sumerian Records. Influences Fellsilent listed many influences including bands such as Meshuggah, Sikth, Textures and the early heavy metal band Led Zeppelin. This mix of new and old was an important tool utilized by the band in pioneering the genre. Reception ''Kerrang!'' ''The Hidden Words'' is the first and only studio album by British experimental band Fellsilent. Released on 25 August 2008 by Basick Records. Milton Keynes ( ) is a city and the largest settlement in Buckinghamshire, England, about north-west of London. At the 2021 Census, the population of its urban area was over . Basick Records
Basick Records is a British record label founded in 2005 by Nathan "Barley" Phillips and his half brother Jake Smith. Their business has since expanded into the Invictus Music & Media group, which includes Basick Records itself, the hardcore punk-oriented label Destroy Everything and the PR company Hold Tight! PR. Basick Records' first release was a compilation album, entitled, "Do You Feel This?", released on 8 August 2005. The first band to be signed to Basick was Fellsilent. They were also the first label to release material from Enter Shikari. In 2011, Basick made a global distribution deal (excluding North America) with Warner ADA. Monuments are a British progressive metal band formed by former Fellsilent guitarist, John Browne, and former Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza guitarist, Josh Travis. The band has released four studio albums through Century Media Records: ''Gnosis'' (2012), '' The Amanuensis'' (2014), ''Phronesis'' (2018) and '' In Stasis'' (2022). History The band was formed by Fellsilent guitarist John Browne and the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza guitarist Josh Travis in 2007. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses.
