Feel Train
Feel Train was a technology cooperative co-founded by Courtney Stanton and Darius Kazemi and based in Portland, Oregon. It closed at the end of 2019. Structure Feel Train was a worker-owned cooperative. Stanton and Kazemi were its first two worker-owners, and the organization was chartered to allow a maximum of eight employees, each with equal salary, equal share in the company and equal firing power over others, including the founders. Darius Kazemi
Darius Kazemi (born 1983) is an American computer programmer and artist. Kazemi and Courtney Stanton are the co-founders of the technology collective Feel Train. Early life Kazemi was born on July 28, 1983. He attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia, then college at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts from which he graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Career After college, Kazemi became a video game designer. In 2012, Kazemi began making bots on Twitter, drawing particular attention for work like his "wordfilter", a feature that enabled bots to avoid racial slurs. A worker cooperative is a cooperative owned and self-managed by its workers. This control may mean a firm where every worker-owner participates in decision-making in a democratic fashion, or it may refer to one in which management is elected by every worker-owner who each have one vote. DeRay Mckesson
DeRay Mckesson (born July 9, 1985) is an American civil rights activist, podcaster, and former school administrator. An early supporter of the Black Lives Matter movement, he has been active in the protests in Ferguson, Missouri, and Baltimore, Maryland and on social media outlets such as Twitter and Instagram. Samuel Sinyangwe (born May 12, 1990) is an American policy analyst and racial justice activist. Sinyangwe is a member of the Movement for Black Lives, the founder of Mapping Police Violence, a database of police killings in the United States and the Police Scorecard, a website with data on police use of force and accountability metrics on US police and sheriff's departments.
