Federal Polytechnic, Oko is a Nigerian polytechnic located in Oko, Anambra State. It was founded in 1979, and was previously known as the College of Arts, Science and Technology. Federal Polytechnic, Oko is one of is developing tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It has functional memoranda of understanding with different universities within and outside the country. On February 4, 2019, Federal Polytechnic Oko had its first female substantive Rector, Dr. Francisca Unoma Nwafulugo. Okoh Town
Oko Town is an Igbo speaking town in south eastern Nigeria. It is one of the 16 towns that make up the geopolitical area called Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra state. It is the major economic town of the local government largely dependent on a very large student community and staff strength of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko. Oko (spelt locally as okoh) is regarded as a citadel of learning due to the start of western educations and establishment of first polytechnic in the old Anambra (present Anambra, Enugu and part of Ebonyi) State in the town.
