February 2015 Kramatorsk rocket attack — a shelling of Kramatorsk by Russian forces or pro-Russian separatists during the war in Donbas. Kramatorsk was controlled by Ukrainian government forces at the time of the attack. As a result of shelling, 17 people died and about 60 were injured. According to Oleksandr Kikhtenko, 32 rockets were launched, 18 of them landed in civilian areas, while 14 of them landed near Kramatorsk military airfield, where ATO headquarters were located. Background On 10 February at 11:51 SMM OSCE heard an explosion near Kramatorsk military airfield, where ATO headquarters were located. OSCE monitors were able to observe a white smoke trail in the direction of the explosion. Kramatorsk ( uk, Краматорськ, translit=Kramatorsk ) is a city and the administrative centre of Kramatorsk Raion in the northern portion of Donetsk Oblast, in eastern Ukraine. Prior to 2020, Kramatorsk was a City of regional significance (Ukraine), city of oblast significance. Since October 11, 2014 Kramatorsk has been the provisional seat of Donetsk Oblast, following the events surrounding the War in Donbas (2014–2022), war in Donbas. The Orlan-10 (russian: Орлан-10) is a reconnaissance, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) developed by the Special Technology Center (STC) in Saint Petersburg for the Russian Armed Forces. The Orlan-10 features a composite hull that reduces its radar signature. Drones are usually deployed in groups of two or three; the first is used for reconnaissance at a height of , the second for electronic warfare and the third as a data relay. One system can include up to five vehicles. The price for one system (including 2 drones, a portable launch complex, a control station and a set of spare parts) is reportedly 5 million rubles, or ~US$160,000 (FY 2013). Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17/MAS17) was a scheduled passenger flight from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur that was shot down by Russian forces on 17 July 2014, while flying over eastern Ukraine. Donetsk "Donetskhirmash" Bus Station Attack
The Donetsk bus station attack occurred on 22 January 2015, when long-range guns using mortar shells targeted the "Donetskhirmash" bus station stop in the Leninskyi District, Donetsk, Ukraine. At the time, this area was under the control of pro-Russian separatist forces during the War in Donbas, as part of the early stages of the Russo-Ukrainian War. The incident was classified as a terrorist act. As a result of the shelling, eight people died and thirteen more were injured. Volnovakha Bus Attack
The Volnovakha bus attack was an attack on a highway checkpoint near the village of Buhas outside of the Volnovakha municipality in the Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine on 13 January 2015. It resulted in the deaths of 12 passengers of an intercity bus and injuries to 18 others in the area. The attack was the largest single loss of life since the signing of the Minsk Protocol in September 2014, which attempted to halt the War in Donbass. The incident has been labeled an "act of terror" by both the Ukrainian authorities as well as the rebels. Initially, separatists took responsibility for this incident, which they thought was a successful destruction of the Ukrainian roadblock.
