Fear Is The Mindkiller
''Fear Is the Mindkiller'' is a remix EP containing remixes of songs from the first album ''Soul of a New Machine'' by Fear Factory. It was released on April 14, 1993, by Roadrunner Records. Content Remixes 1–5 were created by Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb of Front Line Assembly. The EP was remastered and re-released on October 5, 2004, in a digipak, packaged together with the remastered ''Soul of a New Machine'' without "Self Immolation". The title of the record is a quote from "Litany against fear", a fictional incantation from ''Dune'', the science fiction novel written by Frank Herbert. When playing live in the 1990s, the band would occasionally play a variation of the Deep Dub Trauma remix of "Scumgrief", rather than the original. Fear Factory
Fear Factory is an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1989. Throughout the band's career, they have released ten full-length albums and have evolved through a succession of sounds, all in their main style of industrial metal. Over the years, Fear Factory has seen frequent changes in its lineup, with lead vocalist Burton C. Bell being the only consistent member for 31 years until his departure in 2020. Other than guitarist Dino Cazares, there are no original members left in its current lineup. The band went on hold in March 2002 following some internal disputes, but resumed activity a year later without founding member Cazares. Previous bassist Christian Olde Wolbers replaced him as the new guitarist, and bassist Byron Stroud joined the band. In April 2009, a new lineup was announced. Remix EPs
A remix (or reorchestration) is a piece of media which has been altered or contorted from its original state by adding, removing, or changing pieces of the item. A song, piece of artwork, book, video, poem, or photograph can all be remixes. The only characteristic of a remix is that it appropriates and changes other materials to create something new. Fear Factory EPs
Fear is an intensely unpleasant emotion in response to perceiving or recognizing a danger or threat. Andrew Shives
Andrew Shives was the former bassist of the industrial metal group Fear Factory between 1992 and 1993. His photo appeared on the Soul of a New Machine album jacket, but he didn't play on the album (Dino Cazares played all bass tracks). In 1993 Fear Factory released a 7" single under their Spanish name Factoría De Miedo called Sangre De Niños. This is the only material that was ever recorded in a studio with Andrew Shives on bass. He was forced to leave the band due to some internal disputes and was replaced by Christian Olde Wolbers Christian Olde Wolbers (born 5 August 1972) is a Belgian musician, songwriter, and producer who is the bassist and backing vocalist of the heavy metal band Powerflo. Raymond Herrera
Raymond Herrera is an American musician and entrepreneur, best known as the former drummer and founding member of the heavy metal band Fear Factory. He is the former drummer for his previous band Brujeria and for industrial metal band Arkaea. He is a composer and producer of music for video games, television, feature films, and transmedia. Career His commercial album debut was Fear Factory's ''Soul of a New Machine'' in 1992. The band soon began a nearly two decade long recording and touring schedule including more than twelve commercial album releases and numerous world tours. He is known for his high speed playing, particularly his "stop go" double bass technique rather than the usual "flooring face" style. In 1996, Herrera started to secure music licensing of Fear Factory's music for dozens of video games. Dino Cazares
Dino Cazares (born in 1966) is an American musician, known for being the guitarist and one of the co-founders of industrial metal band Fear Factory. He is also the co-founder of the metal bands Divine Heresy, Asesino, and Brujeria. Cazares popularized the use of digital amp modelling processors, as well as the use of seven and eight-string guitars in metal music. Career Cazares met singer Burton C. Bell in 1989 and started a group under the name Ulceration, which was renamed to their current name Fear Factory in the following year with Raymond Herrera on drums. The band's first album, ''Soul of a New Machine'', was dedicated to Cazares' mother, Natividad, and older brother, Joey. Before starting Fear Factory, Cazares was in the grindcore band Excruciating Terror, which he quit after one month. Hideaway (1995 Film)
''Hideaway'' is a 1995 horror film directed by Brett Leonard. It is based on the 1992 novel of the same name by Dean Koontz, and stars Jeff Goldblum, Christine Lahti, Alicia Silverstone, Jeremy Sisto, Alfred Molina and Rae Dawn Chong. In the film, Goldblum plays a man who dies in a car accident, only to be revived two hours later. After being revived, he experiences frightening visions.
