Faujdarhat Cadet College
Faujdarhat Cadet College is a historic public military high school (grade 7 to grade 12), modelled after public schools in the UK (according to the Public Schools Act 1868), run following the national curriculum of Bangladesh in English version, financed partially by the Bangladesh Army, located at Faujdarhat, near Chattogram, in Bangladesh. History Faujdarhat Cadet College boards up to 300 boys for grades 7 to 12. Faujdarhat
Faujdarhat is a neighborhood of Chittagong City in Bangladesh. It is well known as a ship breaking area, with one of the largest breaking yards in the world: Chittagong Ship Breaking Yard. There are several institutions including Faujdarhat Cadet College, the first cadet college in Bangladesh. History In 1995, the Forest Department created a mangrove forest park that stretches from Faujdarhat to South Kattali in Chittagong. The area experienced a major oil spill when an oil-laden train derailed on 9 July 2014. Ship breaking yard The beach in the area is used to demolish ships. Sitakunda ( bn, সীতাকুণ্ড ''Shitakunḍo,'' ) is an upazila in the Chattogram District of Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. It includes one urban settlement, the Sitakunda Town, and 10 unions. Sitakunda is the home of the country's first eco-park, as well as alternative energy projects, specifically wind energy and geothermal power. Sitakunda is one of the oldest sites of human habitation in Bangladesh. During much of its history, it was ruled alternatively by various Buddhist rulers of Myanmar in the east and Muslims rulers of Bengal in the west. Chittagong District, renamed the Chattogram District, is a district located in the south-eastern region of Bangladesh. It is a part of the Chattogram Division. The port city of Chattogram, which is the second largest city in Bangladesh, is located within this district.
