'' Fatso! '' is a 2012 Indian film directed by Rajat Kapoor and starring Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, Purab Kohli, Neil Bhoopalam, Gunjan Bakshi, with a key role played by veteran comic character actor Brijendra Kala. The film is produced by Pritish Nandy and Fauzia Arshi. The movie was released on 4 May 2012 under Pritish Nandy Communications and Daily Multimedia Limited (Fauzia Arshi) banner. This 2012 Hindi film's main plot device is similar to the Hollywood films Shallow Hal (2001), ''Heaven Can Wait'' (1978), and '' Here Comes Mr. Jordan'' (1941), latter two of which were in turn based on a Broadway stageplay from the 1930s – by the noted playwright Harry Segall – also entitled ''Heaven Can Wait''. Rajat Kapoor
Rajat Kapoor (born 11 February 1961) is an Indian actor, filmmaker and playwright who works in Hindi cinema. Kapoor was born in Delhi, India. He mainly focused on acting at first. In 2013 he joined the theatre group Chingari in Delhi, later moving to Pune to attend the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII). Career Kapoor started out in Parallel Cinema making his debut in the 1989 Kumar Shahani film ''Khayal Gatha''. Pritish Nandy
Pritish Nandy (born 15 January 1951) is an Indian poet, painter, journalist, parliamentarian, media and television personality, animal activist and maker of films, TV and streaming content. Harry Segall
Harry Segall (April 10, 1892 – November 25, 1975) was an American playwright, screenwriter and television writer. Segall was born in Chicago. Harry Segall's writing career spans 1933 to 1959. Segall's plays, including '' Lost Horizons'', appeared on Broadway in the mid-1930s. In 1933, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer brought Segall to Hollywood as a contract writer. In 1936, he moved to RKO Pictures where he wrote and co-wrote screenplays for films such as ''The Outcasts of Poker Flat'', based on a story by Bret Harte and ''Blind Alibi,'' starring Richard Dix.
