Fatih Karagümrük Spor Kulübü, also called Karagümrük, is a Turkish professional Association football, football club based in the Karagümrük neighbourhood of the Fatih district in Istanbul. They currently play in the 1. Lig, the second tier of Turkish football. History The club was founded in 1926. It joined the national tiers of the football pyramid in 1933. The club played in the Süper Lig, Turkish Premier League in previous occasions between the years 1959–1963 and in 1983–84. Karagümrük were relegated to the Turkish Regional Amateur League twice, in 1997 and 2009. The side currently plays in the Süper Lig, after being promoted from the TFF First League in the 2019–20 season. The team ended at 8° place their inaugural season in the Süper Lig. The club was managed by Andrea Pirlo from 12th June 2022 to 24th May 2023. Mehmed II ( ota, محمد ثانى, translit=Meḥmed-i s̱ānī; tr, II. Mehmed, ; 30 March 14323 May 1481), commonly known as Mehmed the Conqueror ( ota, ابو الفتح, Ebū'l-fetḥ, lit=the Father of Conquest, links=no; tr, Fâtih Sultan Mehmed, links=no), was an Ottoman sultan who ruled from August 1444 to September 1446, and then later from February 1451 to May 1481. In Mehmed II's first reign, he defeated the crusade led by John Hunyadi after the Hungarian incursions into his country broke the conditions of the truce Peace of Szeged. When Mehmed II ascended the throne again in 1451, he strengthened the Ottoman navy and made preparations to attack Constantinople. At the age of 21, he Fall of Constantinople, conquered Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul) and brought an end to the Byzantine Empire.
