Fat Wreck Chords (pronounced "Fat Records") is a San Francisco, California-based independent record label, focused on punk rock. It was started by NOFX lead singer Michael Burkett (better known as Fat Mike) in 1990. No Use For A Name
No Use for a Name (sometimes abbreviated NUFAN or No Use) was an American punk rock band from Sunnyvale, California, United States formed in 1986 by Chris Dodge (guitar), Steve Papoutsis ( bass) and Rory Koff (drums). The band's sound evolved considerably through its career, starting off as a Bay Area-influenced punk band, moving on to a much heavier metallic-tinted sound to finally taking on a much lighter brand of melodic punk as the years passed. The band's career ended in 2012 following Tony Sly's death on July 31 of that year. History No Use For a Name was formed in 1986 by longtime friends Dodge, Papoutsis and Koff. The early rehearsals of the band had taken place at a warehouse in Sunnyvale owned by Koff's father, where they also came up with the name for the band. The Longest Line
''The Longest Line'' is a 12" EP by the punk rock band NOFX, released in 1992. This was the first release on Fat Wreck Chords and the cover art was done by Dan Sites. The first 200 copies of this record were printed on dark-blue vinyl, some on grey vinyl, and all others on black vinyl. It was repressed in 2007 with 1,082 copies on "Peruvian" white vinyl. This coloured version sold out within a day. The band denied all suggestions that the title referred to cocaine. ''Duh'' is the debut full-length album released by the punk rock band Lagwagon. Production and marketing ''Duh'' was recorded in January 1992 at Westbeach Recorders with producer Fat Mike. Frontman Joey Cape on the recording: Reception ''Duh'' was released in October 1992 and became one of Fat Wreck Chords' highest selling releases. Rancid is an American punk rock band formed in Berkeley, California in 1991. Founded by Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman, former members of the band Operation Ivy (band), Operation Ivy, Rancid is often credited as being among the wave of bands that revived mainstream interest in punk rock in the United States during the mid-1990s. Over their -year career, Rancid retained much of its original fan-base, most of which was connected to its underground musical roots. Rancid has had two lineup changes since its inception, with Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman being continuous members. Their current lineup consists of Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Freeman on Bass guitar, bass and vocals, Lars Frederiksen on guitar and vocals, and Branden Steineckert on Drum kit, drums. ''Radio Radio Radio'' is an EP by the American punk rock band Rancid. The EP was released on August 26, 1993, through Fat Wreck Chords with the catalog number FAT 509. It was also their only release on Fat Wreck Chords. It is the first Rancid release with four members, with the inclusion of Lars Fredriksen on guitar and vocals. Previously a three-piece, Rancid was in need of a second guitar player to refine their sound. They had briefly performed live with Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day as their second guitar player, but Billie Joe decided to stay with Green Day rather than become a full member of Rancid. "Radio" was written in the short time that Billie Joe was in the band, and he therefore was a co-writer of the song. After Billie Joe decided to leave, Frederiksen filled the spot. 88 Fingers Louie is an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois, United States, which was formed in 1993. After disbanding in 1999, guitarist Dan Wleklinski and bassist Joe Principe formed the well-known punk rock band Rise Against. Face to Face is a punk rock band from Victorville, California, formed in 1991 by frontman Trever Keith, bassist Matt Riddle and drummer Rob Kurth. The band rose to fame with their 1995 album ''Big Choice'', featuring the radio hit " Disconnected" which received heavy rotation on KROQ radio in Los Angeles and appeared in the movies ''Tank Girl'' and ''National Lampoon's Senior Trip''. Matt Riddle (born April 5, 196 is an American punk rock bassist. He was the original bass player for Face to Face, which was founded in Victorville, California in the early 1990s. After the band's 2nd album ''Big Choice'' was released in 1995, Riddle parted ways with Face to Face due to personal conflicts with singer/guitarist Trever Keith. He then joined No Use for a Name in 1996 after the band's fourth full-length, ''Leche Con Carne'' (1995), and made his recording debut on the band's '' Making Friends'' record in 1997. He also played briefly for the punk bands Pulley and 22 Jacks. Riddle and Keith have reportedly reconciled their differences, and Riddle provided liner notes for a Face to Face collection entitled ''Shoot the Moon'' in 2005. ''Don't Turn Away'' is the first album by the American punk rock band Face to Face. It was released in 1992 under the label Dr. Strange Records, and was considered a strong debut for the band. It was re-released a year later on Fat Wreck Chords. Two years later, " Disconnected," the album's third track, was re-recorded for the band's second album ''Big Choice''.
