Fast And Loose (1954 Film)
''Fast and Loose'' is a 1954 British comedy film directed by Gordon Parry and starring Stanley Holloway, Kay Kendall and Brian Reece. The film was shot at Pinewood Studios near London with sets designed by the art director John Howell. It was based on the play ''A Cuckoo in the Nest'' by Ben Travers, the first of his Aldwych farces, which had previously been adapted as a 1933 film of the same title. Plot An unmarried couple are forced to adopt a series of pretexts when they stay at a country inn together with only one spare room. Biography Townley was born on 6 November 1912 at Great Dunmow, Essex; his father was a vicar. His first name, "John", was changed to "Toke" shortly after his birth. After he left school he worked as a clerk in a factory, acting in his spare time. He did not become a professional actor until his early 30s, first appearing at Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Drake was born in Herne Bay, Kent. June Thorburn
Patricia June Thorburn Smith (8 June 1931 – 4 November 1967) was a popular English actress whose career was cut short by her death in an air crash. Early life Thorburn was born in Karachi, then part of British India. She was the eldest of three children, including her sister Diana and her brother Keith. She spent most of her schooldays in boarding schools in India, since her father was a colonel in the Indian Army and therefore her parents travelled a lot.
