Abdol-Ali Mirza Farman Farmaian (1935–1973) Library of CongressFarmānfarmāʼiyān, ʻAbd al-ʻAlī, 1935-1973/ref> was an Iranian businessman and nobleman. He was the youngest son of the Qajar Persian nobleman Abdol-Hossein Farman Farma and his wife Batoul Khanoum. Abdol-Ali Mirza Farman Farmaian was born on January 6, 1935. He studied at Oxford University in England, earning a degree in business. Upon returning to Iran, he became involved in several industrial projects, including the co-founding (with his brother Cyrus) of the Naft-e Pars Pars Oil Company, which became Iran's largest private petrochemical factory. Prince Abdol Ali Farman Farmaian died in an avalanche while skiing at the Dizin Resort near Tehran February 2, 1973, leaving his daughter Mariam and his two sons Salman and Abu-Ali. Abdolaziz Farmanfarmaian (Persian: عبدالعزیز فرمانفرمائیان; Shiraz, 1920 – June 21, 2013 Spain) was an Iranian architect, offspring of Iranian nobleman Abdol Hossein Mirza Farmanfarma and a member of the Qajar dynasty of Iran. In 1976, the company known as AFFA (Abdol Aziz Farman-Farmaian and Associates) was created for the design of the Aryamehr Stadium which after the Iranian Revolution in 1979 was renamed to Azadi Stadium. Biography Abdol Aziz Farman-Farmaian was born is Shiraz in 1920 as the tenth son to Prince Abdol-Hossein Mirza Farmanfarma, at the time Governor General of the province of Shiraz. In 1928, at the age of 8 he was sent to school in France, where he remained for his primary, and secondary school at Lycée Michelet in Paris until 1938. Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian ( fa, منیر شاهرودی فرمانفرمائیان; 16 December 1922 – 20 April 2019) was an Iranian artist and a collector of traditional folk art. She is noted for having been one of the most prominent Iranian artists of the contemporary period, and she was the first artist to achieve an artistic practice that weds the geometric patterns and cut-glass mosaic techniques ( Āina-kāri) of her Iranian heritage with the rhythms of modern Western geometric abstraction. In 2017, the Monir Museum in Tehran, Iran was opened in her honor. Early life and education Shahroudy was born on December 18, 1922, to educated parents in the religious town of Qazvin in north-western Iran.
