Farm To Market Road 1528
Farm to Market Road 1528 (FM 1528) is a farm-to-market road located in the western and central portions of Delta County in the U.S. state of Texas. The highway is approximately in length, and travels from FM 64 in the community of Antioch to SH 154 in the county seat of Cooper. Early roads existed in the place of FM 1528 by 1936, and a short section of highway between SH 27 (now SH 24) and Klondike was designated as Loop 39 in 1939, and FM 1528 was designated in 1949. The route of the highway has been altered since its designation, including rerouting due to the construction of Cooper Lake. Route description FM 1528 begins at an intersection with FM 64 in the unincorporated community of Antioch as a two-lane, paved road. Cooper Lake (Texas)
Jim Chapman Lake (also known as Cooper Lake) is a impoundment operated by the Army Corps of Engineers and is located east of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in the state of Texas. The reservoir was created by the 1991 Jim Chapman Dam and impounds the South Sulphur River, a fork of the Sulphur River. It provides water supply storage for the North Texas Municipal Water District, the Sulphur River Municipal Water District. The lake is known as a preferred location for fishing in the region. State Highway 24 (SH 24) runs from Campbell to Paris in north Texas. It is a portion of the main route, along with Interstate 30, from Paris to the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. History On June 21, 1917, SH 24 was designated from Denton to Whitesboro. The historic routing of SH 24 was one of the 25 original Texas state highways. Texas State Highway 27
State Highway 27 is located in Kerr and Kendall counties and runs parallel to Interstate 10. History SH 27 was a route proposed in late July 1917 to run from Ft. Stockton to El Paso. On March 18, 1918, a section from San Antonio to Sonora was added. On August 21, 1923, it became one continuous route from San Antonio to Balmorhea. Everything west of Balmorhea became a portion of SH 3. The section from Kerrville to Bandera was cancelled, and the section from Bandera to San Antonio was renumbered as part of SH 81. SH 27 was rerouted southeast to Boerne replacing a portion of SH 41. In 1927, it was cosigned with U.S. Highway 290.
