Farhiya Abdi (born May 31, 1992) is a Somali-Swedish professional basketball player. She has also played overseas since 2016. Career Abdi was born in 1992 in Sweden. Her parents are Somali migrants. Abdi initially played for Frisco Brno in the Czech Republic basketball league. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. The Los Angeles Sparks (LA Sparks) are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Sparks compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Western Conference. The team was founded before the league's inaugural 1997 season began. Like some other WNBA teams, the Sparks have the distinction of not being affiliated with an NBA counterpart, even though the market is shared with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers.
