Oleksandr Petrovych Dovzhenko or Alexander Petrovich Dovzhenko ( uk, Олександр Петрович Довженко, ''Oleksandr Petrovych Dovzhenko''; russian: Алекса́ндр Петро́вич Довже́нко, ''Aleksandr Petrovich Dovzhenko''; November 25, 1956), was a Ukrainian Soviet screenwriter, film producer and director. He is often cited as one of the most important early Soviet filmmakers, alongside Sergei Eisenstein, Dziga Vertov, and Vsevolod Pudovkin, as well as being a pioneer of Soviet montage theory. Biography Oleksandr Dovzhenko was born in the hamlet of Viunyshche located in the Sosnitsky Uyezd of the Chernihiv Governorate of the Russian Empire (now part of Sosnytsia in Chernihiv Oblast, Ukraine), to Petro Semenovych Dovzhenko and Odarka Yermolayivna Dovzhenko. Nikolai Gritsenko
Nikolai Olimpievich Gritsenko (russian: Николай Олимпиевич Гриценко, uk, Микола Олімпійович Гриценко; 24 July 1912 – 8 December 1979) was a Soviet and Russian theater and film actor. He appeared in more than 30 films between 1942 and 1978. Gritsenko also was member of the Vakhtangov Theatre company in Moscow, Russia. There he was designated Honored Artist of the RSFSR and People's Artist of the USSR. He died on 8 December 1979, and was buried in the Novodevichy Cemetery, in Moscow, Russia. Lyudmila Shagalova
Lyudmila Alexandrovna Shagalova (russian: Людмила Александровна Шагалова; April 6, 1923 – March 13, 2012) was a Russian film supporting actress, active during the Soviet era. She was named a People's Artist of Russia in 1977. Shagalova was born in Rahačoŭ, Gomel Governorate, Russian SFSR, now Belarus. Her Soviet cinema credits include '' The Young Guard'' in 1948, for which she and rest of the film's cast won a Stalin Prize. Other films include ''Balzaminov's Marriage'' in 1964, and the ''Wounded Game'' in 1977. Her husband Vyacheslav Shumsky (1921–2011) was an award-winning cinematographer. Shagalova died on March 13, 2012, at the age of 88. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin released a statement in response to her death saying, "An actress of great talent who had a considerable impact on the history of the national film art. Grigory Oyzerovich Spiegel (russian: Григо́рий О́йзерович Шпи́гель; 24 July 1914 — 28 April 1981) was a Soviet and Russian actor and voice actor. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1974). Biography He worked as a pleater at a dye factory in Leningrad. He studied at the directing department of the Central School of amateur theater in Moscow. In 1940 he graduated from an acting school at the Mosfilm. He worked as a National Film Actors' Theatre. He took part in voicing cartoon characters, known for his voice being unusually high pitched and sonorous for a man. Death Died April 28, 1981. He was buried in Moscow at the Vvedenskoye Cemetery.
