Fares Bayoush
Fares Bayoush ( ar, فارس البيوش, born 1970) is a former lieutenant colonel in the Syrian Arab Air Force who defected to the Free Syrian Army in 2012. Military activities in the Syrian Air Force In 1990, Fares Bayoush joined a Syrian Air Force technical institute and graduated as a lieutenant colonel in 1992. From there he became an aircraft engineer and an officer of the Syrian Air Force's 24th Brigade. He was stationed in the Deir ez-Zor Airport. Syrian Civil War On 1 April 2011, during the civil uprising phase of the Syrian Civil War, Fares Bayoush went from Deir ez-Zor and traveled to the town of Kafr Nabl in the Idlib Governorate. He returned to Deir ez-Zor and contacted other officers to organize a mutiny in the Deir ez-Zor Airbase. Kafr Nabl
Kafr Nabl ( ar, كَفْرنَبِل, Kafr Nabil, also spelled Kafranbel or Kafr Nabil) is a town administratively belonging to the Idlib Governorate and Ma'arrat al-Numan District in northwestern Syria. It is situated above sea level. In the 2004 census by the Syrian Central Bureau of Statistics Kafr Nabl had a population of 15,455. In the early 1960s it had a population of about 1,200. Kafr Nabl's inhabitants are predominantly Sunni Muslims. Battle Of Murak
The Battle of Morek was a battle in the Hama Governorate during the Syrian Civil War, between the rebels and the Syrian Government. The clashes were concentrated around and in the eastern side of the town of Morek (or Murak), as the Syrian Army tried to regain the town after it was lost to the rebels on 1 February 2014. The city was retaken by the rebels shortly after the collapse of the Northwestern Syria offensive (October–November 2015). Capture of Morek On 1 February, rebels reportedly took the al-Harsh checkpoint, north of Morek, and the al-Jeser checkpoint, between Helfaya and Taybat al-Imam. They also captured the al-Aboud military checkpoint, thus fully taking control of Morek and cutting the supply line to the Wadi al-Daif and al-Hamidiyah military bases near Maarrat al-Nu'man, and isolating Army checkpoints in Khan Shaykhun. The Air Force Intelligence Directorate ( ar, إدارة المخابرات الجوية, ''Idarat al-Mukhabarat al-Jawiyya'') is an intelligence service of Syria, possibly the country's most powerful, owing its importance to Hafez al-Assad's role as the Air Force commander. Despite its name, it is mainly involved with issues other than air force intelligence, and took an active part in the suppression of the Muslim Brotherhood rebellion in the 1980s. Mutiny is a revolt among a group of people (typically of a military, of a crew or of a crew of pirates) to oppose, change, or overthrow an organization to which they were previously loyal. Deir Ez-Zor Airport
Deir ez-Zor Airport ( ar, مطار دير الزور) is an airport serving Deir ez-Zor, a city in northeastern Syria. History Deir ez-Zor Airport was established by the British during World War II as LG-416. Before the war in Syria, airlines like Jazeera Airways or Syrian Air flew to destinations such as Damascus, Aleppo, Bahrain or Kuwait. On October 15, 2012, there were heavy shelling by artillery and missiles on the city from the Airport. On 24 November 2012, rebels were surrounding the airport. The Syrian protests (2016) were a series of large-scale protests against the Syrian government and in support of the Syrian opposition taking place throughout opposition-controlled territory in Syria. The protests spread throughout the country due to the implementation of a partial ceasefire taking place after 27 February 2016. The goal of the protests in 2016 was the resignation of president Bashar al-Assad. 2015 Hama Offensive
The 2015 Hama offensive was a military operation launched by Syrian rebels during the Syrian Civil War in the northern parts of Hama Governorate.
