''Faree'' is a 2021 Maldivian film written and directed by Ahmed Hisham Saeed. The film stars Nuzuhath Shuaib and Ravee Farooq in lead roles. The film follows a single mother through her decision to leave a deteriorating marriage as she confronts the dysfunctional life she left behind. The film had a digital premiere on 29 March 2021. Premise Concerned with Umar's (Yaafi Mohamed Hameed) behavioral change, the school management meets with his mother, Faree (Nuzuhath Shuaib) who is trying to relieve herself and her son from an abusive marriage with a drug addict, Faidh (Ravee Farooq). Meanwhile, Faree's younger sister, Aisthu (Aishath Thasmeena) begins a romantic relationship with a married man which further disturbs their mother (Fauziyya Hassan). Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. She afterwards appeared in a number of romantic dramas including '' Vaaloabi Engeynama'', for which she was nominated for best supporting actress at the 2008 Gaumee Film Awards. Mohamed Yunaan (born 26 May 1991) is a Maldivian former film actor. Career Prior to his official career debut with Aishath Rishmy-directed romantic drama '' Bos'' (2017), Yunaan acted in few office teledramas. In ''Bos'' he portrayed the role of an IT specialized intelligent blackmailer who turns into a depressed man following the downturn of love. Penned and produced by Fathimath Nahula, Yunaan termed the film as his "dream project" since he was raised in "Nahula's melodramatic universe". Nahula's selection to rope in Yunaan as the male lead was met with controversy, although she considered it as the "most firm and best decision" she took for the film. Nuzuhath Shuaib (born 14 September 1988) is a Maldivian film actress. Early life Nuzuhath Shuaib was born on 14 September 1988 in N. Manadhoo. She was working at Jelly Pizza when her friend, a film actor Ali Azim introduced her to the team of ''Malikaa''. Impressed with the brief meeting, she was roped in to play the title character in the film. Career Nuzuhath Shuaib made her film debut with Ali Musthafa-directed family drama ''Malikaa'' playing the titular role, Malikaa, a sidelined daughter who has been underappreciated for her doings while she manages to execute the whole responsibilities of the family. Ravee Farooq is a Maldivian actor, director, editor and choreographer. Career Farooq made his film debut with Abdul Faththaah-directed romantic disaster film, '' Hureemey Inthizaarugaa'' (2005) cast along with Mariyam Zuhura, Waleedha Waleed, Ibrahim Jihad and Neena Saleem. The film, heavily relied on the effect of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake on the Maldives, received favorable reviews from critics though it failed to perform financially. Farooq played the disrespectful husband who chose wealth above his family. His performance won a Miadhu Crystal Award for the Best Male Newcomer. In April 2006, Ahmed Nimal's revenge thriller '' Hiyani'' was released which featured Farooq as the kidnapper who constantly flirts with a rich married woman. Ahmed Easa (born 7 October 1985) is a Maldivian film actor. Career In his childhood, Ahmed Easa watched Bollywood films and imitated the acting of Sunil Shetty in stage performances. While watching his movies, Easa grew a fondness towards cinema and decided to pursue a career in acting "if granted with a chance worth holding for". He was first offered a role in Amjad Ibrahim's romantic horror film ''Udhabaani'' (2009) but he rejected it since he was "too shy to be in front of the camera with his current physique".
