James William Buffett (born December 25, 1946) is an American singer-songwriter, musician, author, and businessman. He is best known for his music, which often portrays an "island escapism" lifestyle. Together with his Coral Reefer Band, Buffett has recorded hit songs including "Margaritaville" (ranked 234th on the Recording Industry Association of America's list of "Songs of the Century") and "Come Monday". He has a devoted base of fans known as "Parrotheads". Mailboat Records is an independent record label established in 1999 by American singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett after his vanity label Margaritaville Records was absorbed by Island Records when they were sold to Universal Music Group, owner of Buffett's previous label MCA Records. Mailboat's first release was Buffett's '' Buffett Live: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays''. Russ Titelman (born August 16, 1944, Los Angeles, California) is an American record producer and songwriter. He has to date won three Grammy Awards. He earned his first producing the Steve Winwood song " Higher Love", and his second and third for Eric Clapton's ''Journeyman'' and ''Unplugged'' albums, respectively. Titelman also produced Clapton's '' 24 Nights'' live album of 1990 and the all-blues album '' From the Cradle'', released in 1994. Biography Titelman began his musical career in the 1960s. ''License to Chill'' is the twenty-fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett and was released on July 13, 2004, by Mailboat and RCA Nashville. On this album, Buffett has many duets with noted contemporary country music artists, on country songs including " Hey, Good Lookin'" by Hank Williams. This rendition reached No. 8 on the ''Billboard'' country singles charts; another single, "Trip Around the Sun" (a duet with Martina McBride) reached No. 20. The album features the most covers he's recorded for an album – 11 of the 16 songs are covers. It sold 238,600 copies in its first week of release according to Nielsen SoundScan and became his album to reach No. 1 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album chart. This is also the name of his 2004 concert tour, which included two shows at Boston's Fenway Park. Clide Vernon "Sonny" Landreth (born February 1, 1951) is an American blues musician from southwest Louisiana who is especially known as a slide guitar player. He was born in Canton, Mississippi, and settled in Lafayette, Louisiana. He lives in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Technique Landreth is known as "the King of Slydeco" and plays with a strong zydeco influence.
