God Is an Astronaut are an Irish post-rock band from County Wicklow, formed in 2002 by Niels and Torsten Kinsella. Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs. It was released on Compact disc, CD on November 8, 2008, through Revive Records. It was released on LP record, vinyl LP by Morningrise Records and in Japan, with bonus live tracks, in 2009. The album was mastered by Tim Young at Metropolis Mastering in London and produced by the band. ''Drowned in Sound'', sometimes abbreviated to ''DiS'', is a UK-based music webzine financed by artist management company Silentway. Founded by editor Sean Adams, the site features reviews, news, interviews, and discussion forums.
