Fantasia Battle Royal
Fantasia International Film Festival (also known as Fantasia-fest, FanTasia, and Fant-Asia) is a film festival that has been based mainly in Montreal since its founding in 1996. Regularly held in July of each year, it is valued by both hardcore genre film fans, and distributors, who take advantage of the eclectic line up to select domestic and international films for release across North America. By virtue of the reputation developed over the last 15 years, this festival has been described as perhaps the "most outstanding and largest genre film festival in North America". Overview The history of the Fantasia Festival has roots in the Asian Film scene in Montreal. The Suicide Squad (film)
''The Suicide Squad'' is a 2021 American superhero film based on the DC Comics team Suicide Squad. Produced by DC Films, Atlas Entertainment, and The Safran Company, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a standalone sequel to ''Suicide Squad'' (2016) and the 10th film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). ''We Are What We Are'' ( es, Somos lo que hay) is a 2010 Mexican horror film directed by Jorge Michel Grau. A stand-alone sequel to ''Cronos'' (1993), the film is about a family who, after the death of the father, try to continue on with a disturbing, ritualistic tradition. The film stars Paulina Gaitán and Daniel Giménez Cacho, the latter of whom reprises his role from ''Cronos''. Plot At a shopping mall, a father suddenly dies on the sidewalk. Excentris was a performing arts center and cinema located on Saint-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal, Quebec. The complex was conceived by Daniel Langlois Daniel Langlois (born 1957 in Jonquière) is the president and founder of the Daniel Langlois Foundation, Ex-Centris, and Media Principia Inc. Daniel Langlois also founded Softimage Inc., serving as its president and chief technology officer fr ... as a laboratory for digital media production as well as a screening venue. It was opened in June 1999, after two years of construction at a cost of CA$6.2 million, and covered . Excentris ran into financial difficulty in 2009 and was forced to shut down two of its three cinemas. The Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema (formerly the Bloor Cinema and the Bloor Hot Docs Cinema) is a movie theatre in The Annex district of downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located at 506 Bloor Street West, near its intersection with Bathurst Street and the Bathurst subway station.
