USS ''Fantana'' (SP-71) was a motorboat that served in the United States Navy as a patrol boat from 1917 to 1919. ''Fantana'' was built as a private motorboat of the same name in 1902 at Morris Heights, New York, by the Gas Engine and Power Company and the Charles L. Seabury and Sons Company. The U.S. Navy chartered her in 1917 for World War I service and commissioned her on 17 March 1917 as USS ''Fantana'' (SP-71). ''Fantana'' was attached to Squadron 8 for patrol and picket duty on stations assigned in the 5th Naval District. On 24 November 1918, ''Fantana''s crew was detached. Fantanas
The Fantanas are a group of spokesmodels (later dancers) who were created to promote the Fanta brand of soft drinks in the United States. The quartet has appeared since 2002 in advertising and personal appearances. There have been five different Fantanas rosters, the latter reintroduced as a co-ed dance ensemble in 2017. Their jingle is "Wanna Fanta! Don't you wanna?". The "story" behind the Fantanas According to the Fantanas' website, they lived on Fantana Island and were accidentally discovered by an entertainment mogul named Sir Juan-Carlos Martinez III after he fell off his yacht and was washed ashore on that island, seeing their work. He later talked with an advertising mogul, Paul Gurbel, in a fictional New York restaurant who brought them to the United States. John Raymond Hubbell
John Raymond Hubbell (June 1, 1879 – December 13, 1954) was an American writer, composer and lyricist. He is best known for the popular song, "Poor Butterfly". Life and career Hubbell was born in Urbana, Ohio, Urbana, Ohio. He attended schools in Urbana and studied music in Chicago, Illinois, Chicago, where he formed a dance band. He worked for Charles K. Harris, Charles K. Harris Publishers as a staff arranger and pianist. His first compositions for stage musicals were the songs for ''Chow Chow'' (lyrics and book by Addison Burkhardt), which ran for 127 performances in Chicago in 1902.
