Famous Music Corporation was the worldwide music publishing division of Paramount Pictures, a division of Paramount Global since 1994. "Love Theme from ''The Godfather''" is an instrumental theme from the 1972 film ''The Godfather'', composed by Nino Rota. The piece was lyricized in English by Larry Kusik into "Speak Softly, Love", a popular song released in 1972. The highest-charting rendition of either version was by vocalist Andy Williams, who took "Speak Softly Love" to number 34 on ''Billboard'' magazine's Hot 100. and number seven on its Easy Listening chart.. Nickelodeon (often shortened to Nick) is an American pay television television channel, channel which launched on April 1, 1979, as the first cable channel for children. Clyde Otis
Clyde Lovern Otis (September 11, 1924 – January 8, 2008), was an American songwriter and record producer, best known for his collaboration with singer Brook Benton, and for being one of the first African-American A&R executives at a major label. According to the music licensing organization Broadcast Music Inc., Otis is credited as the writer or co-writer of almost 800 songs. Early career After serving in the Marines during World War II, Otis moved to New York City and inspired by fellow Marine Bobby Troup, best known for " Route 66", began writing songs. "Where Everybody Knows Your Name", also credited as "Theme from ''Cheers'' (Where Everybody Knows Your Name)", is the theme song from the television sitcom '' Cheers'', as well as the debut single for Gary Portnoy. The song was written by Portnoy and Judy Hart Angelo, and performed by Portnoy in 1982. Shortly after the premiere of ''Cheers'', Portnoy went back into the studio to record a longer version of the song that made the U.S. and British pop charts. The opening credits begin with the now-famous "where no man has gone before" monologue recited by series star William Shatner, accompanied by an opening fanfare. Take My Breath Away
"Take My Breath Away" is a song written by Giorgio Moroder and Tom Whitlock for the 1986 film ''Top Gun'', performed by American new wave band Berlin. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, as well as the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song in 1986. Background Italian musician Giorgio Moroder was asked by Jerry Bruckheimer, the co-producer for ''Top Gun'', to write a song for the film. He first wrote " Danger Zone" which was recorded by Kenny Loggins. Happy with the result, Bruckheimer then requested a slower song for a romantic scene. Once Moroder had written the musical backing to what would become "Take My Breath Away", he recorded a demo which featured a distinctive bass sound on a synthesiser that would later be used on the actual recording.
