Family Motor Coach Association
The Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) is an international organization of families who own and enjoy the use of recreational vehicles. Since 1963, FMCA has issued more than 500,000 membershipsFMCA's Official website"About Us" page/ref> to families who look to the association as their source of information about all facets of RV ownership and travel. FMCA is a member-owned association that maintains its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States, and employs a full-time office staff. FMCA is governed by volunteer officers who are elected from within the ranks of the association. Formation On July 20, 1963, 26 families met at the Good Will-Hinckley School in Hinckley, Maine, United States, to socialize and become acquainted with other "house car" owners. They decided to form a motor coach owners' common interest group. Good Will-Hinckley
Good Will-Hinckley is a charitable organization in Fairfield, Maine. Organized in 1889 by George W. Hinckley, the membership-driven organization is dedicated to educating youth and changing lives. It has a campus of more than in Fairfield, on which it operates the Maine Academy of Natural Sciences, a boarding and day school focused on agricultural and outdoor education, and the Glenn Stratton Learning Center, a day treatment school focused on children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. It is also home to the L. C. Bates Museum, one of the oldest natural history museums in Maine. Fairfield is a town in Somerset County, Maine, United States. The population was 6,484 at the 2020 census. The town includes Fairfield Center, Fairfield village and Hinckley, and borders the city of Waterville to the south. It is home to the Good Will-Hinckley School, Lawrence High School and Kennebec Valley Community College. History The area was territory of the Canibas tribe of Abenaki Indians residing at Taconnet village, once located downriver at the confluence of the Sebasticook and Kennebec rivers in what is today Winslow. The Good Sam Club is an international organization of recreational vehicle (RV) owners and the largest organization of RV owners in the world. It is focused upon making RVing safer and more enjoyable, also, saving money for members through club-endorsed benefits and services. It states that it has over 2.185 million members. It was founded in 1966, and is currently owned by the Good Sam Enterprises. The organization is affiliated with RV parks and campgrounds. Overview History Credited as founder of the Good Sam Club is Art Rouse, founder of TL Enterprises, a California-based publishing company responsible for Trailer Life magazine and MotorHome magazine.
