''Falta Amor'' (English: ''Love Is Missing'') is the second studio album by Latin American Mexican rock band Maná, their second under the name Maná, and their first under the WEA Latina label. The album had sold almost 500,000 copies worldwide by 1993, and following their 1994 breakthrough in the United States, ''Falta Amor'' had sold 186,000 copies in the country by 2011. Reception Jason Birchmeier of AllMusic stated that "''Falta Amor'' is the Mexican pop/rock band's least noteworthy album by far – musically, at least – but it still has its moments". Maná () is a Mexican pop rock band. The band is considered one of the best-selling Latin music artists and the most successful Latin American band of all time with over 40 million records sold worldwide. The group's current lineup consists of vocalist/guitarist Fher Olvera, drummer Alex González, guitarist Sergio Vallín and bassist Juan Calleros. José Fernando Emilio "Fher" Olvera Sierra (born 8 December 1959) is a Mexican rock musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the secondary guitarist, composer, and lead singer for the Mexican rock band Maná, the most successful Latin American band of all time with over 40 million albums sold worldwide. Biography Early career Born as José Fernando Emilio Olvera, he started his musical career as a teenager playing with Gustavo Orozco and the brothers Ulises, Juan Diego and Abraham Calleros in Guadalajara; forming a band called Sombrero Verde in the 80s. Maná With Abraham Calleros and Gustavo Orozco switching interests, Olvera continued his musical trajectory with the Calleros, Juan Diego (bass), Ulises (lead guitar) and himself (vocals and backup guitar), and a new member: Alejandro González (drums). Alex González (musician)
Alejandro González Trujillo (born February 24, 1969, Miami, Florida, United States) is an American musician of Cuban and Colombian extraction. He is a member, drummer and songwriter for the Mexican band Maná and metal band De La Tierra. He is nicknamed "El Animal" and has sung lead vocals on several songs, such as " Me Vale". Alex discovered his passion for playing the drums at the young age of 5 when he caught the attention of a kindergarten teacher who gave him a red sparkle drumkit. He took to the instrument very seriously and found himself a teacher shortly thereafter. Alex was in Maná by age fifteen which hit it big in 1992 with the album '' ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños?'', which was certified gold in the U.S. Alex cites influences such as Ringo Starr, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart and Terry Bozzio. Mexican rock music, often referred to in Mexico as ''rock nacional'' ("national rock"), originated in the 1950s.
