Falsterbo Horse Show 2010
The 2010 Falsterbo Horse Show, the official Swedish show jumping horse show, was held between July 8 and July 11 as CSIO 5* and CDI 5*. The first horse show were held 1920 in Falsterbo, in 1969 the first show jumping derby was held here. FEI Nations Cup of Sweden The 2010 FEI Nations Cup of Sweden was part of the 2010 Falsterbo Horse Show. It was the fifth competition of the 2010 Meydan FEI Nations Cup. The 2010 FEI Nations Cup of the Sweden was held at Friday, July 9, 2010 at 2:30 pm. The competing teams were: France, the United States of America, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden, Great Britain, Spain and Poland. The competition was a show jumping competition with two rounds and optionally one jump-off. The height of the fences were up to 1.60 meters. Falsterbo (, outdatedly ) is a town located at the south-western tip of Sweden in Vellinge Municipality in Skåne. Falsterbo is situated in the southern part of the Falsterbo peninsula. It is part of Skanör med Falsterbo, one of Sweden's historical cities. Climate ''See Skanör med Falsterbo#Climate for more data.'' History Falsterbo historically enjoyed trading privileges with the Hanseatic League. During the Middle Ages, it was a rich and prestigious town owing to its location in a center of trade and herring fishery. Denis Lynch
Denis Lynch (born 3 May 1976) is an Irish show jumper. He represented Ireland at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Early on 21 August it emerged that he had withdrawn from the equestrian individual final which was due to have been held later that day. It was later confirmed that Lynch was banned from entering the show jumping final due to his horse, Lantinus, being found to have been in contact with illegal substances. Latinus was found to have capsaicin in his system due to the use of a cream similar to Deep-heat called Equiblock. Lynch had been using the banned substance for some time but maintained that he did not know it was illegal. He described himself as "shattered" due to missing out on his chance for an Olympic medal. Lantinus was one of four horses banned on doping offences; the others were from Brazil, Germany and Norway. Jessica Kürten (born 24 November 1969) is an Irish equestrian who competes in the sport of show jumping. Born Jessica Chesney, Kürten won several national pony championships as a youth.
