Falling Up (band)
Falling Up was an American Christian rock band from Albany, Oregon. Falling Up formed in October 2001, and released their debut album ''Crashings'' in 2004. They were signed to BEC Recordings in 2003 after a recommendation from friends in the band Kutless. The band's name came from the first song they wrote, which talked about their belief in both human imperfection and in the grace of God which compensates for that imperfection; their lyrics were heavily grace-themed. Over time, the lyrics became more abstract and poetic as the band's style shifted from alternative rock to a more experimental direction, and they started creating more diverse music. The band went through several line-up changes, with only lead vocalist Jessy Ribordy, bassist Jeremy Miller, and drummer Josh Shroy appearing on every album. Albany is the county seat of Linn County, Oregon, and is the eleventh largest city in that state. Albany is located in the Willamette Valley at the confluence of the Calapooia River and the Willamette River in both Linn and Benton counties, just east of Corvallis and south of Salem. FF5 (formerly known as Family Force 5, The Phamily, Ground Noise and The Brothers) is an American Christian rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band formed in 2005 by brothers Solomon "Soul Glow Activatur" Olds, Joshua "Fatty" Olds, and Jacob "Crouton" Olds along with their two friends, Nathan "Nadaddy" Currin and Brad "20 Cent" Allen, who was later replaced by Derek "Chapstique" Mount. The Dear Hunter
The Dear Hunter is an American progressive rock band originating in Providence, Rhode Island. It began as a side project of Casey Crescenzo when he was a member of the Receiving End of Sirens, before becoming his main band in 2006. The band's sound features a wide variety of instruments and styles. Most of the band's albums, starting with their 2006 debut album '' Act I: The Lake South, the River North'', are concept albums and a part of a common storyline, planned to conclude with a sixth installment. Ruth is a four-piece Christian indie band from Battle Ground, Washington. Ruth's debut album, ''Secondhand Dreaming'', was released June 26, 2007. History Formation Dustin Ruth moved to Los Angeles to find band members to join him in forming a band. After searching for some time, he finally found a group of people in his hometown of Portland, Oregon, who also wanted to form a band. The band's name "Ruth" is a reference to the lead singer's last name, and is also an acronym for "Return Us to Him". ''Fangs!'' is the fourth studio album from experimental rock band Falling Up. It was released on March 24, 2009 through BEC Recordings. Unlike the band's previous work, ''Fangs!'' is a science fiction concept album. Background Falling Up announced ''Fangs'' in August 2008, recorded from September through November, and completed the album around late 2008. The material for the album was written during early and mid-2008. Album updates were announced via the band's MySpace blogs and official YouTube channel randomly during 2008. On January 23, the band's official MySpace profile was changed to reflect the new album's artwork and style. The band added a new song, entitled "Streams of Woe at Acheron", to their Myspace profile on January 22 and announced the album pre-order on January 27. Disciple is an American Christian metal and rock band from Knoxville, Tennessee, formed in 1992. Since its formation, the band has released 12 studio albums, 3 extended plays, 1 live extended play, and 1 compilation album. ''Captiva'' is the third studio album from Christian rock band Falling Up, released on October 2, 2007. The band recorded the album with Seattle producer Aaron Sprinkle, who also handled the production duties for the band's debut, ''Crashings''. As opposed to the band's first two albums, ''Crashings'' and ''Dawn Escapes'', ''Captiva'' is more alternative and experimental rock driven as a whole, similar to some elements that were present on ''Dawn Escapes'', but much less hard rock-driven, and continues to show a change in the band's musical direction. It also features much less distorted guitar rhythms, and nearly all turntable effects present on previous albums are omitted. Jonathan Steingard
Jonathan Steingard (born 1983) is a Canadian musician who was the lead vocalist and lead guitarist for the Christian pop-punk band Hawk Nelson, which he joined in October 2004, replacing the former guitarist David Clark. He took over vocal duties upon Jason Dunn's departure in March 2012, until his own departure in 2020. Career His side projects include September Satellite, The Natural Anthem, two albums entitled ''Fox Run'', ''Under The Canopy'' and an EP ''Atlantis''. Steingard's first principal side project, ''Fox Run'', released on October 25, 2006, utilizes a large number of instruments for a unique sound. Hawk Nelson is a Canadian Rock music, rock band from Peterborough, Ontario. Formed in 2000, the band has released eight studio albums to date. Tooth & Nail Records is a Christian rock record label founded by Brandon Ebel in California in November 1993. The label later moved to Seattle, Washington where it is situated today. It is home to many well-known musical acts, including Underoath, Hawk Nelson, Emery, The Almost, FM Static, Family Force 5, Anberlin, and MxPx. Tooth & Nail's first album released was Wish for Eden's ''Pet the Fish'', which was produced by Michael Knott and originally slated to be released by Blonde Vinyl. The Send was an American alternative rock project of Falling Up ex-guitarist, Joseph A. Kisselburgh of Albany, Oregon, was signed to Tooth & Nail Records. His debut album, ''Cosmos'', was released on July 31, 2007. Before this was even released, though, his song, "The Fall", was featured on ''Charlotte's Web: Music Inspired By The Motion Picture'', a compilation album with music inspired by the 2006 movie of Charlotte's Web. Project 86 is an American metal band from Orange County, California, formed in 1996. The band has released ten albums, which have collectively sold nearly 500,000 units worldwide, two EPs, two DVDs, and one live album. In 1998, BEC Recordings released a self-titled debut album that was well received by critics and consumers. Their second release, ''Drawing Black Lines'', garnered attention from mainstream record labels; Atlantic licensed the album from Tooth & Nail Records, the parent company of BEC.
