"Falling" is the second single released from Montell Jordan's second album, '' More...''. Like the previous single, " I Like", "Falling" was co-produced by Derick "D Man" McEleveen and James Earl Jones, who sampled MC Eiht's " Streiht Up Menace". "Falling" is the most successful of the three singles, making it to 18 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, and was certified gold on December 3, 1996 for individual sales of 500,000 copies. The official remix featured a guest appearance from rapper, Flesh-n-Bone. Montell Jordan
Montell Du'Sean Barnett Jordan (born December 3, 1968) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Best known for his 1995 single "This Is How We Do It", Jordan was the primary male solo artist on Def Jam's Def Soul imprint until leaving the label in 2003. In 2010, Jordan left the music business to become the worship leader at Victory World Church in Norcross, Georgia. Early life and education Montell Jordan was born in South Central Los Angeles to Elijah and Deloris Jordan. Born into a Baptist family, Jordan attended his local church frequently as a child, where his mother and father worked as deacons. Growing up, Jordan played piano for his church as a musician. In the mid-1980s, Montell attended Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California as well as Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he earned a bachelor's degree in communications. ''More…'' is the second studio album by American singer Montell Jordan, released on August 27, 1996 through Def Jam Recordings. Though the album performed not as well on the US ''Billboard'' charts as his previous album, only making it to #47 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200, ''More…'' nevertheless was certified gold by the RIAA on May 21, 1997. Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. MC Eiht
Aaron Tyler (born May 22, 1971), better known by his stage name MC Eiht (pronounced MC eight), is an American rapper and actor. Many of his songs are based on his life in Compton. His stage name was partly inspired by the numeral in KRS-One's name. He chose Eiht for its links to "hood culture", including Olde English 800 (8 Ball) and .38 caliber firearms. He is the ''de facto'' leader of West Coast hip hop group Compton's Most Wanted, which also included fellow Compton-based rappers Boom Bam, The Unknown DJ, Tha Chill, DJ Mike T, DJ Slip and Ant Capone. Streiht Up Menace
"Streiht Up Menace" is the debut single by MC Eiht off the soundtrack of 1993 movie ''Menace II Society''. The lyrics of the song focus on the life of the main character in the movie, Kaydee "Caine" Lawson (Tyrin Turner), acting as a sort of plot summary for the film. Compton's Most Wanted also did this with another song from a soundtrack with the song "Growin' Up In The Hood" from the ''Boyz n the Hood'' soundtrack. The track was later released on the 2001 Compton's Most Wanted compilation album "When We Wuz Bangin" and on the 2010 MC Eiht compilation album "The Best Of MC Eiht".
