Falköping Airport
Falköping Airport is an airport located in Falköping for business and club aircraft. The airport was inaugurated in 1985 and was built by the government of Falköping Municipality to accommodate Kinnarps's desire to have a nearby airfield for its business flights. The airport is only a few hundred meters from Sikagården's industrial area on the outskirts of Falköping. At the airport, Falbygden's Aviation Club operates. The Aviation Club arranges training for glider certificates, motor flight certificates (EASA-PPL) and certificates for ultralight aircraft. Falköping Municipality
Falköping Municipality (''Falköpings kommun'') is a municipality in Västra Götaland County in western Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Falköping. The present municipality consists of more than 50 original local government units, joined together in two structural reforms carried out in 1952, when the number was reduced to eight, and during the period 1971–1974. In 1971 the former ''Town of Falköping'' was made a unitary municipality and three years later amalgamated with the surrounding municipalities. Falköping
Falköping is a locality and the seat of Falköping Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 16,350 inhabitants in 2010. History The town of Falköping was first spoken of in the Icelandic ''Rimbegla'' (around 1100 A.D.), and is mentioned in the Westrogothic law. It was also an important site of pilgrimage due to its 12th-century church dedicated to Saint Olaf (''Sankt Olofs kyrka''). The town was heading for a shut-down during the 16th century and was even burnt to the ground by the Danish during the Northern Seven Years' War. However the town survived and was rebuilt. Falköping or Falbygden (when meaning the agricultural landscape in which Falköping is located) is widely known for its ancient remains of Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.
