Falkirk RFC
Falkirk Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in Falkirk, Scotland. They currently compete in Scottish National League Division One, the second tier of Scottish club rugby. The club play their home matches at Cala Park. History The club's roots in Falkirk can be traced back through the Falkirk Herald Archives to 1906 when Falkirk Rugby Football Club was first formed. The club is recorded as having played at both the Tryst and Windsor Parks before they became a casualty of the First World War; although the game was still played at Falkirk High School, then part of the Midlands Schools Rugby Association. For over half a century Falkirk did not feature on the Scottish rugby map until 1972 when the ICI Grangemouth RFC transferred its assets to Falkirk. Scottish Rugby Union
The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU; gd, Aonadh Rugbaidh na h-Alba) is the governing body of rugby union in Scotland. Styled as Scottish Rugby, it is the second oldest Rugby Union, having been founded in 1873. The SRU oversees the national league system, known as the Scottish League Championship, and the Scottish National teams. Scottish National League Division Two
The Scottish National League Division Two (known as Tennent's National League Division 2 for sponsorship reasons) is the third tier of the Scottish League Championship for amateur rugby union clubs in Scotland. The division was established in its current format in 2014 after the creation of three national leagues below the Premiership. This replaced the two Championship Leagues which were scrapped after just two seasons. Alex Sharman (born in Tasmania, Australia) is an Australian Paraguayan retired rugby union player, who played for the Paraguay national rugby union team. Personal life During the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Sharman supported Paraguay from the Sydney Opera House. Career Early life Sharman was born in Hobart, Tasmania, and started playing rugby at The Hutchins School, captaining the school to a premiership: he also captained Tasmania at underage level. The Scotland national rugby union team represents Scotland in men's international rugby union and is administered by the Scottish Rugby Union. The team takes part in the annual Six Nations Championship and participates in the Rugby World Cup, which takes place every four years. David Jamieson (rugby Union)
David Jamieson (born in Scotland) is a Scottish former rugby union player who played for Glasgow Warriors at the tighthead prop position, although he can also play hooker. Rugby Union career Amateur career Jamieson's rugby career spanned the amateur and professional era. In 1995 before professionalism was introduced in Scotland – Scotland would take up professional rugby a year later for the 1996–97 season – he was playing for West of Scotland. He subsequently signed for the Glasgow Warriors. Whilst not involved with the professional provincial Glasgow side in the 1997–98 season, Jamieson played amateur rugby with Stirling County. Dave Millard
Dave Millard (born 26 November 1979 in Fiji) is a Fijian-born former Scotland 7s international rugby union footballer. He played professionally for Glasgow Warriors. His regular playing position was on the wing. Born in Fiji but brought up in Scotland, Millard went to Merchiston Castle School in Edinburgh. He went to Aberdeen University to study marine biology and zoology and played for Aberdeen GSFP. The wing came through the Scotland age-grade international setup. Millard played internationally for Scotland 7s in 2005. Millard played in the IRB AXA International Sevens tournament in Wellington, New Zealand but suffered a hamstring tear on his debut. Mark McKenzie (rugby Union)
Mark McKenzie (born 2 December 1971) is a former Scotland 'A' international Scottish rugby union player. He played for Caledonia Reds and Glasgow Warriors in Scotland, and for CS Bourgoin-Jallieu and Nice in France. McKenzie's career spanned the amateur and professional era. In 1989, he was playing for Glasgow District Under 18s. He won the Division One league title in 94/95 with Stirling County. On Scotland's rugby professionalism in 1996, McKenzie then played for Caledonia Reds and won the Scottish Inter-District Championship with them in the 1996-97 season; their first ever title. He played in the Heineken Cup with Caledonia Reds. When Caledonia Reds merged with Glasgow Rugby in 1998, to form Glasgow Caledonians, now Glasgow Warriors, McKenzie found himself without a professional club. Finn Russell
Finn Alastair Russell (born 23 September 1992) is a Scottish professional rugby union player who primarily plays fly-half for Racing 92 in the Top 14. He has also represented Scotland at international level, having made his test debut against the United States during the 2014 Summer Internationals. Glasgow Warriors
Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments. In the 2014–15 season they won the Pro12 title and became the first Scottish team to win a major trophy in rugby union's professional era. John Manson
John Manson (born 22 June 1968) is a retired Scottish international rugby union footballer who played with the Caledonia Reds and Glasgow Warriors, two of Scotland's first professional rugby teams. Rugby Union career Amateur career Manson played for Hillfoots, Dundee HSFP, Stirling County, and West of Scotland FC at amateur level.
