The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is a federation made up of twenty-three states ('' es, estados''), a Capital District ('' es, Distrito Capital'') and the Federal Dependencies ('' es, Dependencias Federales''), which consist of many islands and islets in the Caribbean Sea. Venezuela also claims the Guayana Esequiba territory which comprises six districts in the independent nation of Guyana. The states and territories of Venezuela are usually organized into regions ( es, regiones), although these regions are mostly geographical entities rather than administrative entities. Cumaribo
Cumaribo is a town and municipality located in the Department of Vichada, Republic of Colombia. Cumaribo was founded by Jose Nicolino Mattar in 1959. In 2005 the municipality had an estimated total population of 28,718 inhabitants, 4,312 of these living in the head of the municipality or urban area. The municipality has 74,000 kmª, one of the largest municipalities in Colombia. Geography The municipality of Cumaribo borders to the north with the other three municipalities of the Department of Vichada; La Primavera, Puerto Carreño and Santa Rosalia; to the east with the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela; to the south with the Department of Guainía; and to the west with the departments of Meta and Guaviare. Gran Colombia (, "Great Colombia"), or Greater Colombia, officially the Republic of Colombia (Spanish: ''República de Colombia''), was a state that encompassed much of northern South America and part of southern Central America from 1819 to 1831. Zulia State ( es, Estado Zulia, ; Wayuu: ''Mma’ipakat Suuria'') is one of the 23 states of Venezuela. The state capital is Maracaibo. As of the 2011 census, it has a population of 3,704,404, the largest population among Venezuela's states. Josefa Camejo
Josefa Venancia de la Encarnación Camejo (18 May 1791 – 5 July 1862) also known as La Camejo and Doña Ignacia, is recognized in the National Pantheon of Venezuela as one of the heroines of the Venezuelan War of Independence, supporting the patriotic cause. Biography Camejo was born in a distinguished family, the daughter of Miguel Camejo and Sebastiana Talavera y Garcés, her parents were the owners of the estate where she lived, Aguaque. She attended school in the city of Coro and then was sent by her parents to Caracas to continue her studies. There, she met the beginnings of independence of Venezuela, which occurred on April 19, 1810. In 1811, at 20 years of age, Camejo moved to live with her mother in Barinas where her uncle monsignor Mariano de Talavera y Garcés, who was secretary of the Patriotic Society of Mérida and who had great influence on the education of his niece. Coro Province
Coro Province (1811 - 1864) was a province in the Zulia Department of Gran Colombia, and later one of the provinces of Venezuela, after Venezuelan independence in 1830. In 1864 it became one of the States of Venezuela, as Coro State, and was renamed Falcón State in 1874. The Province was created in 1811 in royalist opposition to the Venezuelan War of Independence, and recognised by royal decree in 1815. In 1821, with the defeat of royalist forces, it was incorporated into Gran Colombia.
