Falcon Air Force Station
Schriever Space Force Base, previously Schriever Air Force Base, Falcon Air Force Base, and Falcon Air Force Station, is a base of the United States Space Force located approximately east of Peterson Space Force Base near Colorado Springs in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. Space Delta 6 (DEL 6) is a United States Space Force unit which assures access to space through the $6.8 billion Satellite Control Network and defensive cyberspace capabilities for space mission systems. Activated on 24 July 2020, the delta is headquartered at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado. It replaced the 50th Network Operations Group, which had been part of the former 50th Space Wing. Space Operations Command (SpOC) is the United States Space Force's space operations, cyber operations, and intelligence field command. Geographically Separate Unit
In the United States military a Geographically Separate Unit (GSU) is a base that is physically separate from, yet not autonomous of its "parent" base. GSUs are "owned" by their parent organization and are typically quite small. Assignment to a GSU can be a mixed blessing. The distance from the parent organization means a more relaxed atmosphere. However, it also means that members assigned to the GSU have to travel to the "parent" base for most military services such as the Commissary, Base exchange, or Personnel Unit. The United States Air Force Warfare Center (USAFWC) at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, reports directly to Air Combat Command.
