''Falafel'' ( ar, فلافل) is a 2006 Lebanon, Lebanese film written and directed by Michel Kammoun. It world premiered on September 16, 2006 at the Ayam Beirut Festival. Falafel is Kammoun's first feature film, and was produced by Elle Kensington. Synopsis A summer evening in Beirut. The life of Toufic, a young Lebanese man, and his nightly strolls. Between his family, friends and love affairs, he tries to seize every day of his life, through pleasures and entertainment. For him, every second is the most important. ''Michel Kammoun'' ( ar, ميشيل كمون; born in Sierra Leone) is a Lebanese people, Lebanese-France, French film director. He is mostly known for his 2006 feature film Falafel (film), Falafel, which won Golden Bayard for Best Film in Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur, 2006 Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur. Career After studying architecture, Michel Kammoun joined the film school École supérieure d'études cinématographiques, ESEC in Paris. He has written and directed many short films. Elie Mitri (born 26 January 1980) (Arabic; ايلي متري) is a Lebanese actor, writer and stand-up comedian. Film/TV A graduate of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts in 2003, his career was launched in 2006 when he starred in Falafel, directed by Michel Kammoun. The film, which follows an overnight series of mishaps a young man lives through in Beirut, garnered a lot of attention internationally.
