Faisal Al-Mahmeed (born November 3, 1983) is a Kuwaiti former swimmer, who specialized in backstroke events. Al-Mahmeed competed only in the men's 100 m backstroke at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. He achieved a FINA B-cut of 58.65 from the Asian Championships in Busan, South Korea. The LA84 Foundation (known until June 2007 as the Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles) is a private, nonprofit institution created by the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee to manage Southern California's endowment from the 1984 Olympic Games. Backstroke Swimming
Backstroke or back crawl is one of the four swimming styles used in competitive events regulated by FINA, and the only one of these styles swum on the back. This swimming style has the advantage of easy breathing, but the disadvantage of swimmers not being able to see where they are going.
