Louisville, Kentucky
Louisville ( , , ) is the largest city in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the 28th most-populous city in the United States. Louisville is the historical seat and, since 2003, the nominal seat of Jefferson County, on the Indiana border. Named after King Louis XVI of France, Louisville was founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark, making it one of the oldest cities west of the Appalachians. Bardstown Road
Bardstown Road is a major road in Louisville, Kentucky. It is known as "Restaurant Row". It carries U.S. Route 31E and U.S. Route 150, from the intersection of Baxter Avenue (US 31E) and Broadway (US 150), southeast through Jefferson and Bullitt counties; in Spencer and Nelson counties, the road is named Louisville Road; that road becomes 3rd Street in Bardstown, where US 31E and US 150 split at the intersection with U.S. Route 62 (Stephen Foster Avenue). There is a segment in The Highlands from Douglass Boulevard to Bardstown Road's northern terminus at Baxter Avenue, along with several blocks of Baxter Avenue north of the terminus, that has four lanes, with the outer two lanes used for on-street parking during non-peak traffic hours. U.S. Route 31E (US 31E) is the easternmost of two parallel routes for U.S. Highway 31 from Nashville, Tennessee, to Louisville, Kentucky. (At one time, it split with U.S. Highway 31W at Sellersburg, Indiana, north of Louisville.) Route description Tennessee US 31E begins as the Ellington Parkway at the corner of Main Street and US 31, US 31W, US 41 and US 431 (Spring Street) just east of Interstate 24 (I-24). The freeway's interchanges in the middle of the route mainly includes locally maintained streets such as Cleveland Street, East Trinity Lane, Hart Lane, and Broadmoor Drive. Ellington Parkway ends at an interchange with SR 155 (Briley Parkway), about east of the Briley's I-65 junction. Highview, Louisville
Highview is a former census-designated place in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 15,161 at the 2000 census. On January 6, 2003, the area was annexed to the city of Louisville due to a merger between the city and Jefferson County's unincorporated communities. Highview is now a neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville. About Highview is located in between Okolona and Ferncreek. As like Okolona and Ferncreek it began to thrive in the 1950s and 1960s, quickly becoming suburbs and neighborhoods. Highview also co-exists with Springmill and Hollow Creek, which are a part of Highview in itself as a whole. In 1969 there needed to be a high school in the Highview area. As building began the school was originally going to be named Highview High School; it was quickly changed and renamed Marion C. Moore High School after Marion C.
