''Fair Play'' is a 1925 American silent film, silent drama film directed by Frank Hall Crane and starring Edith Thornton, Lou Tellegen and Gaston Glass.Munden p.226 Synopsis The career of criminal lawyer Bruce Elliot is largely built up by his devoted secretary, Norma Keith. However unaware of her feelings for him, he marries a gold-digging woman. When she is then killed in an accident, Bruce is convicted of murder and it falls to Norma to scour the criminal underworld for evidence that will clear him. Frank Hall Crane (January 1, 1873 – September 1, 1948) was an American stage and film actor and film director, director.F H Crane at New York Times on line accessed January 1, 2008 He appeared in more than 70 films between 1909 and 1939. He also directed 48 films between 1914 and 1927. His first screen writing included ''The Stolen Voice'' in 1915. He was born in San Francisco, California. David Dunbar (actor)
David Dunbar (14 September 1886 – 7 November 1953) was an Australian film actor. Dunbar was a prominent actor in American and British silent films, particularly in westerns,Wooley p.19 but switched to playing more minor roles after the arrival of sound. In later years he appeared mostly in British-themed Hollywood films. He was one of the first film actors beginning his screen career with Pathe Freres, Paris in 1910. Previously he was an actor on the legitimate stage both in Australia, his homeland and in Britain. On 7 March 1926 his wife Blanche was killed in a car collision in the Hollywood Hills. He had one sister, Miriam Kathleen (Strachan) Dunbar who remained in Petersham, New South Wales. Simon Greer (born 1968) is an American labor and community organizer and social change leader. As the founder of Cambridge Heath Ventures, he works with “private sector companies, purpose driven organizations and governments to help them overcome their most pressing challenges." Betty Francisco
Betty Francisco (born Elizabeth Barton; September 26, 1900 – November 25, 1950) was an American silent-film actress, appearing primarily in supporting roles. Her sisters Evelyn and Margaret were also actresses. Early years Francisco was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. As a child, she acted in stock theater companies. When she was older, she became an artists' model. Career Francisco is credited in more than 50 films from 1920 to 1934, after which it appears she retired from motion picture acting. Her first film credit was in the 1920 film ''A Broadway Cowboy''. Selected as one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars in 1923, she nevertheless continued to be cast in secondary roles and rarely played the lead. Charles Hutchison
Charles Hutchison (December 3, 1879 – May 30, 1949) was an American film actor, director and screenwriter. He appeared in more than 40 films between 1914 and 1944. He also directed 33 films between 1915 and 1938. Though he directed numerous independent silent features, he is best remembered today as Pathé's leading male serial star from 1918 to 1922. In 1923 he went to Britain and made two films ''Hutch Stirs 'em Up'' and ''Hurricane Hutch in Many Adventures'' for the Ideal Film Company. He made one last serial in 1926, ''Lightning Hutch'', for distribution by the Arrow Film Corporation. It was meant to be a comeback vehicle, but the production company went into bankruptcy just as it was released. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and died in Hollywood, California. He was the person who convinced actor Karl Dane to return to films in the mid-1920s.
