Fair Haven Beach State Park
Fair Haven Beach State Park is a state park on the southeastern shore of Lake Ontario in upstate New York. It is located on the east side of Little Sodus Bay in the town of Sterling in Cayuga County, northeast of the village of Fair Haven. The southern part of the park is sometimes called Fair Haven State Park. The park covers shoreline bluffs, sandy beaches and adjoining hilly woodlands. Inland, the park includes Sterling Pond and Sterling Creek. Park facilities The park offers of sand beach including of guarded swim area on Lake Ontario, in addition to five picnic areas with picnic tables and pavilions, a playground and ball field, a campground with tent and trailer sites, a boat launch and marina, and an 18-hole golf course. Amenities include a camp store, a concession stand, and boat rentals with row boats, paddle boats, canoes, and kayaks available for use only on the Sterling Pond waterway. Fair Haven, New York
Fair Haven is a village located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in Cayuga County, New York, United States. The population was 724 at the 2020 census. Fair Haven is within the town of Sterling and is northwest of Syracuse. The village is on Little Sodus Bay, an arm of Lake Ontario. History The village first gained prominence as a port on the south shore of Lake Ontario. The openings in the sand bars on Little Sodus Bay were widened and protected by jetties in the middle of the 19th century, thus improving the shipping capabilities of Fair Haven. The west pier was later marked with a wooden outer lighthouse with a fourth order Fresnel lens and in 1873 a light keepers house was built on shore which still stands. Sometime later an inner lighthouse was added. The Southern Central Railroad served Fair Haven, from 1872 until 1887 when it was absorbed by the Lehigh Valley Railroad. Lake Ontario

Sterling, New York
Sterling is a town in Cayuga County, New York, United States. The population was 3,040 at the 2010 census. Located on the shore of Lake Ontario, the town is named after William Alexander, Lord Stirling, an American general of the Revolutionary War. Sterling is the most northerly town in the county and lies northwest of Syracuse. Civilian Conservation Corps
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) was a voluntary government work relief program that ran from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed, unmarried men ages 18–25 and eventually expanded to ages 17–28. The CCC was a major part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal that supplied manual labor jobs related to the conservation and development of natural resources in rural lands owned by federal, state, and local governments. The CCC was designed to supply jobs for young men and to relieve families who had difficulty finding jobs during the Great Depression in the United States Robert Fechner was the first director of this agency, succeeded by James McEntee following Fechner's death.
