Fair City Athletic F.C.
Fair City Athletic Football Club was a football club from Perth in Scotland. It was one of the top two clubs in Perth in the 1890s but a disastrous ground move led to the club's dissolution in 1902. History The club was founded in November 1884 under the name Fair City Athletics. The club's name was indiscriminately reported as Athletic and Athletics over the club's existence. The Athletics' first recorded match was a 7–1 win over Balhousie of Perth at the South Inch in December 1884. Cup competitions The club entered the first Perthshire Cup in 1884–85 and lost to Dunblane F.C. in the semi-final by 13 goals to 1. City joined the Scottish Football Association in 1886, which entitled the club to enter the Scottish Cup; its first entry to the Cup was in 1886–87, but it withdrew before playing its first round tie. Crieff (; gd, Craoibh, meaning "tree") is a Scottish market town in Perth and Kinross on the A85 road between Perth and Crianlarich, and the A822 between Greenloaning and Aberfeldy. The A822 joins the A823 to Dunfermline. Crieff has become a hub for tourism, famous for whisky and its history of cattle droving. Forfar Athletic Football Club are a Scottish semi-professional football club from the town of Forfar, Angus. They are members of the Scottish Professional Football League and currently play in Scottish League Two. They play their home games at Station Park, in the north end of Forfar. The club are nicknamed "the Loons" ('loon' is a Northern Scots word for a young man), although they are sometimes referred to as the "Sky Blues" (which the club stopped using in the early 1990s). Scottish Qualifying Cup
The Scottish Qualifying Cup was a football competition played in Scotland between 1895 and 2007. During that time, apart from a brief spell in the 1950s, it was the only way for non-league teams to qualify for the Scottish Cup. The Qualifying Cup was open to all full member clubs of the Scottish Football Association, who were not members of the Scottish Premier League or Scottish Football League. In June 2007 the Scottish Football Association announced a new format for the Scottish Cup from season 2007–08 that would allow all full member clubs direct entry into the competition and consequently the Qualifying Cup competition was scrapped. Perthshire League
The Perthshire League was a league association football tournament for teams in Perthshire, Scotland. History The League was set up on 8 January 1898 at a meeting at the White Horse Hotel in Perth, by representatives of five of the senior clubs, plus two junior, clubs in the county: * Airleywight * Duncrub Park * Huntingtower * Luncarty * Scone * Stanley * Tulloch Having helped to set up the League, Duncrub Park decided not to take part, although it did finally join the League in 1901. The competition was aimed at clubs in the county, rather than urban areas, so clubs from Perth were not included. The first champion, in 1897–98, was Scone, which won every one of its 10 matches. Luncarty withdrew after three games of the 1898–99 season and was replaced the following year by Bridge of Earn. The Scottish Football League (SFL) was a league featuring professional and semi-professional association football, football clubs mostly from Scotland.One club, Berwick Rangers F.C., Berwick Rangers, is based in the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, which is located approximately 4 km south of the Anglo-Scottish border.
