Fadéla M'rabet
Fadéla M'rabet (born 1935) is an Algerian writer, doctor of biology, teacher and feminist. Biography M'rabet was born in Skikda in 1935, and grew up in Constantine, Algeria Constantine ( ar, قسنطينة '), also spelled Qacentina or Kasantina, is the capital of Constantine Province in northeastern Algeria. During Roman Empire, Roman times it was called Cirta and was renamed "Constantina" in honor of emperor Const .... Her family was religious Islamic and her father worked in the Algerian state radio station. M'rabet attended the University of Algiers where she got her degree and later attended university in Strasbourg where she completed a doctorate in biology. After university M'rabet worked as a teacher before joining the radio station with her father where she ran a women's program. Her work there inspired her first books ''La Femme algérienne'' and ''Les algériennes''. She became known as a leading feminist in Algeria. As a result, she was dismissed from her job and ... Skikda
Skikda ( ar, سكيكدة; formerly Philippeville from 1838 to 1962 and Rusicade in ancient times) is a city in northeastern Algeria and a port on the Mediterranean. It is the capital of Skikda Province and Skikda District. History The Phoenicians and Carthaginians established a trading post and fort named (, "Jug Cape") after Skikda's nearby cape. Falling under Roman hegemony after the Punic Wars, the name was Latinized as Rusicade or Rusiccade. Rusicade contained the largest Roman theatre in Algeria, dating to the reign of Hadrian. In late antiquity, the port was destroyed during the Vandals' invasion of 530. The Byzantines reconquered the region in 533 and 534, but left large areas under Berber control. The town was overrun by the Umayyad Caliphate at the end of the 7th century.
