"Faded" is a song by British-Norwegian record producer and DJ Alan Walker with vocals provided by Norwegian singer Iselin Solheim. The single was originally set to be released on 25 November 2015, but was postponed to 3 December. The song was highly successful, peaking in the top 10 in most of the countries it charted in, and reached the top spot in more than 10 countries. As of April 2022, it is the 21st most viewed video on YouTube and also the 14th most viewed music video, with over 3.3 billion views, making it the first EDM track to hit that milestone. "Faded" is also the 48th most streamed song on Spotify as of April 2022, with over 1.5 billion streams. "Faded" is a song written by Matthew Gerrard, Jessica Origliasso, Lisa Origliasso, and Robbie Nevil, produced by Gerrard and Bryon Jones for Australian singer Kate DeAraugo's first album '' A Place I've Never Been'' (2005). It was released as the album's second single in Australia on 20 February 2006 as a CD single. Two of the song's co-writers—Jessica and Lisa Origliasso of the Veronicas—recorded a demo of "Faded" prior to DeAraugo's release. They have been known to perform the song live. "Faded" was DeAraugo's second top-10 single following her number-one hit "Maybe Tonight" after winning series three of '' Australian Idol''. "Faded" is the debut single by American electronic musician Zhu. An extended play of remixes was released on June 29, 2014. "Faded" peaked at number one on the US Dance chart. One of the first radio stations to pick up "Faded", the alternative music orientated station Triple J, gave the song significant airplay which was responsible for its success in Australia. Kim Petras (born 27 August 1992) is a German singer and songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Between 2016 and 2020, she released music as an independent artist under her own imprint, BunHead Records, before signing with Amigo and Republic Records in 2021. Petras began recording music as a teenager, releasing her debut extended play ''One Piece of Tape'' in 2011.
